HOLIDAY NEWS - Google is expanding the reach of Circle to Search beyond Android-based smartphone devices through integrating the feature with Google Lens in the Chrome browser for desktop.
According to an Android Central broadcast on Tuesday (30/7), the Circle to Search feature is now available in beta versions of ChromeOS 127 and Chrome 128 for Windows and macOS.
A search attempt using this feature begins by clicking “Search with Google Lens” in the Chrome menu and then circling the content element you wish to search for on the screen.
By moving the box around the content, search results will be instantly visible in the side panel, so users can continue browsing while checking search results.
Circle to Search originally launched for the Galaxy S24 and Pixel 8 phones, but its use was later expanded to other devices.
This feature allows users to search for information based on visual content easily.
On the desktop, this feature is called Drag to Search. ChromeOS users can access the feature by clicking the Google Lens icon in the address bar.
Meanwhile, Windows and macOS users can use it by selecting “Search with Google Lens” in the Chrome menu stream.
Google Lens in Chrome makes it easy for users to search for anything visible on the screen, including searching for something that appears in the video they are viewing or an image on a web page.
Until now there has been no official notification regarding when this feature will be available to everyone. However, new features usually become widely available shortly after they arrive in beta.

Menurut siaran Android Central pada Selasa (30/7), fitur Circle to Search sekarang tersedia di versi beta ChromeOS 127 dan Chrome 128 untuk Windows dan macOS.
Upaya pencarian menggunakan fitur ini dimulai dengan mengeklik "Search with Google Lens" pada menu Chrome dan kemudian melingkari unsur konten yang hendak dicari pada layar.
Dengan menggeser kotak di sekitar konten, hasil pencarian akan secara instan terlihat di panel samping, sehingga pengguna bisa melanjutkan penelusuran sambil mengecek hasil pencarian.
Circle to Search semula diluncurkan untuk ponsel Galaxy S24 dan Pixel 8, tetapi penggunaannya kemudian diperluas ke perangkat yang lain.
Fitur ini memungkinkan pengguna untuk mencari informasi berdasarkan konten visual secara mudah.
Di desktop, fitur ini disebut Drag to Search. Pengguna ChromeOS bisa mengakses fitur dengan mengeklik ikon Google Lens di bilah alamat.
Sedangkan pengguna Windows dan macOS bisa menggunakannya dengan memilih "Search with Google Lens" pada aliran menu Chrome.
Google Lens di Chrome memudahkan pengguna mencari apapun yang terlihat di layar, termasuk mencari sesuatu yang muncul dalam video yang sedang dilihat atau gambar yang ada pada halaman web.
Hingga saat ini belum ada pemberitahuan resmi mengenai kapan fitur tersebut akan tersedia bagi semua orang. Namun, biasanya fitur baru akan tersedia secara luas tidak lama setelah hadir dalam versi beta.
