Routing protocol
HOLIDAY NEWS – A routing protocol is a set of rules used by a router to determine the best path for data to be sent over a network. In a computer network, data is sent in the form of packets that must pass through several nodes before reaching their destination.
So, the routing protocol helps the router determine which path these packets should take in order to reach their destination efficiently and reliably.
Routing Protocol Type
There are two main types of routing protocols: dynamic routing protocols and static routing protocols.
Static Routing Protocol
Static Routing is a type of routing where the path to the destination is determined manually by the network administrator. This means the administrator manually enters the route into the routing table on the router.
The advantage is that it is more secure because it does not depend on network updates from other routers. On the other hand, the disadvantage is that it is not flexible and cannot adapt to network changes automatically.

HOLIDAY NEWS – Protokol routing adalah seperangkat aturan yang digunakan oleh router untuk menentukan jalur terbaik bagi data yang akan dikirim melalui jaringan. Dalam sebuah jaringan komputer, data dikirim dalam bentuk paket yang harus melewati beberapa node sebelum mencapai tujuannya.
Nah dengan begitu protokol routing membantu router menentukan jalur mana yang harus diambil paket-paket ini agar dapat mencapai tujuan dengan efisien dan andal.
Jenis Protokol Routing
Ada dua jenis utama protokol routing: protokol routing dinamis dan protokol routing statis.
Protokol Routing Statis
Routing Statis adalah jenis routing di mana jalur ke tujuan ditentukan secara manual oleh administrator jaringan. Ini berarti administrator memasukkan rute secara manual ke dalam tabel routing pada router.
Keuntungannya lebih aman karena tidak bergantung pada pembaruan jaringan dari router lain. Sebaliknya kekurangannya adalah tidak fleksibel dan tidak dapat menyesuaikan diri dengan perubahan jaringan secara otomatis.
