Taylor Swift satirizes her new album, Matty Healy proposes to his girlfriend
- Happy news came from the vocalist of the band The 1975 Matty Healy and his girlfriend Gabbriette Bechtel who were engaged. This news emerged after the launch of Taylor Swift's latest album, The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD), which allegedly satirized Matty and their past relationship.
Matty proposed to Gabbriette with a rare black diamond ring estimated at around IDR 200 million which he bought at a vintage liquidation sale. Gabbriette Bechtel, a 26-year-old singer and model, sparked engagement speculation after posting a photo on Instagram with a black diamond ring on her ring finger.
"MARRYING THE 1975 IS VERY B*** @trumanblack," he wrote. Matty Healy then re-uploaded the photo on his personal account, strengthening the suspicion that they were engaged.
The news of this engagement came not long after the launch of Taylor Swift's latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department". Fans believe several songs on the album were inspired by Swift's relationship with Healy. One of the songs entitled 'The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived' is said to be about someone who often dresses like a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses, which Matty Healy often does.
A number of songs on Swift's latest album seem to provide an overview of her relationship with Matty, which initially went well and was serious but then foundered. Taylor seemed to insinuate that Matty had talked about starting a household with her.
"Until Taylor said things about strollers, and living together. Matty said that he had never even thought about it. Matty took it calmly," said the source, as quoted by US Weekly. In an interview in Los Angeles, Matty Healy responded calmly to rumors about Swift's album.
"I haven't heard much of the album, but I'm sure it's good," he said with a smile.
Regarding the song that allegedly satirized him, the 35-year-old musician didn't seem to think too much about it and was more focused on his relationship with Gabbriette. Matty and Gabbriette were first romantically linked in September 2023. At that time, Matty had broken up with Taylor Swift in June 2023. Since then, they have often been seen together at various public events, including concerts and Fashion Week.
