Bridgerton Star Nicola Coughlan Raises IDR 19.4 Billion for Palestine

Jakarta -
'Bridgerton 3' star Nicola Coughlan uses her celebrity status to raise funds for Palestine. The actor who plays Penelope Featherington managed to raise billions of rupiah to help Palestinian children who were victims of Israeli military attacks. 

Through fundraising, Nicola collected more than IDR 19.4 billion. The funds will be distributed to the Palestine Children's Relief Fund program. 

This 37 year old actress is one of the celebrities who is very vocal about her support for Palestine. Following the attack in Rafah, Gaza, in May, Nicola urged her followers to help raise funds for the affected children.

Nicola has also shown support for Palestine by wearing a red pin at several public appearances. The red pin is a symbol for an immediate ceasefire. 

This woman from Galway, Ireland, is part of the Artists for Ceasefire group which urges the war to be stopped immediately. They also highlighted the humanitarian crisis in Palestine. 

Nicola stated that it was important for her to voice her opinion regarding Palestine, as a person who has more privilege, and is more likely to be heard or followed by the public. 
"I'm doing my dream job and traveling the world, but I'm very aware of what's happening in Rafah right now," he said, as quoted by USA Today. 

"My father was in the Irish army, which was a peacekeeping force. He was a member of the UN, so my family lived in Jerusalem in the late '70s. "He is part of UNTSO, the UN Truce Monitoring Organization, so this organization aims to broker peace in the Middle East," he concluded.
