WhatsApp juga mengatakan, selain memastikan ponsel memiliki OS lebih baru, pengguna juga diminta memastikan gawainya dapat menerima SMS atau panggilan selama proses verifikasi.
WhatsApp tidak mendukung pembuatan akun baru pada perangkat yang hanya mendukung WiFi.
"Perangkat dan perangkat lunak sering berubah, jadi kami secara teratur meninjau sistem operasi yang kami dukung dan melakukan pembaruan," tulis WhatsApp.
WhatsApp mengatakan, pihaknya selalu meninjau ponsel apa saja yang akan dihentikan dukungannya.
