Soal Peluang PDI-P Tunjuk Cawapres Ganjar dari NU, Muhaimin: Pernyataan Ketua PBNU Kan NU Tak Sodorkan
Ketua Umum Partai Kebangkitan Bangsa (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar angkat bicara soal kemungkinan PDI-P menunjuk tokoh Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) sebagai calon wakil presiden (cawapres) Ganjar Pranowo.
Regarding the Opportunity of PDI-P to Appoint a Vice Presidential Candidate Ganjar from NU, Muhaimin: Statement from PBNU Chairperson, NU Doesn't Propose
Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar spoke about the possibility of PDI-P appointing a Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) figure as vice presidential candidate (cawapres) Ganjar Pranowo.
Muhaimin Iskandar said it was clear that the Nadhlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) would not interfere in practical politics.
"But, if you look at the statement from the chairman of PBNU, NU will not offer its cadres for contestation as a presidential or vice-presidential candidate," said Muhaimin when met on Jalan Diponegoro, Jakarta, Monday (15/5/2023).
"That was the statement of the chairman of PBNU. So I can't comment," he said.
However, in his view, PDI-P Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri has the right to choose which figure will be chosen to be Ganjar Pranowo's companion in the 2024 presidential election (Pilpres) contest.
"We leave it entirely up to Bu Mega and PDI-P to determine their partners. We cannot interfere," said Muhaimin.
On the other hand, Muhaimin Iskandar said that currently communication between PKB and PDI-P was still going well.
However, he gave a signal that he would remain in the Great Indonesia Awakening coalition (KIR) with the Gerindra Party.
"Yes, we communicate, interact almost continuously, well, with friends in PDI-P. Even in the DPR, in the MPR, almost every day of course (communication). Mutual respect that I have chosen the coalition in Gerindra," he said.
It is known that the PDI-P expressed respect for PBNU's position in choosing not to get involved in practical politics.
Previously, Chairman of the Advisory Council of the United Development Party (PPP) Romahumuziy or Rommy said PBNU was selecting a figure to be nominated as Ganjar's running mate.
However, PBNU chairman Fahrur Rozi denied the news, who emphasized that PBNU had not discussed a specific candidate for vice president.
