DJ Running Out of Money in Bali Becomes Homeless, Residents Become Restless
Bali - Caucasians from Germany ran out of money while on vacation in Bali. As a result, he lives in an empty house and lives a homeless life because he doesn't have a penny.
Quoted from detikBali, Head of Bali Regional Office (Kakanwil) Ministry of Law and Human Rights Anggiat Napitupulu said the woman with the initials DJ (53) arrived at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport on March 18 2022. She used a visit visa (VoA) which is valid until April 16 2022 .
Anggiat explained that DJ was secured by the Badung Satpol PP on July 4, 2022. This is because he was homeless, causing the community to become restless. The German Caucasian lives in an empty house in the Petitenget area, North Kuta, Badung, Bali.
DJ, Anggiat continued, lives in Bali relying on his savings. He admitted that he had not been able to withdraw money from his account since April 14, 2022. As a result, he ran out of money, was stranded, and overstayed for 79 days.
DJ also has not conveyed his problem to the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Indonesia or his family. This is because DJ's mobile phone was confiscated by a hotel in the Petitenget area as collateral because he could not afford to pay for lodging.
"Immigration can still carry out deportations in line with the principle of ignorantia legis neminem excusat (ignorance of the law does not justify anyone)," said Anggiat.
Babay Baenullah, Head of the Denpasar Rudenim Office, explained that DJ was detained for ten months and six days. DJ was deported after the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany agreed to assist in providing DJ's return ticket.
DJ was deported through I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport with the final destination being Frankfurt International Airport, Germany. DJ was escorted by three officers from the Denpasar Rudenim.
Apart from that, this German foreigner will also be put on the list of deterrence to the Directorate General of Immigration. "After we report the deportation, a decision on further deterrence will be decided by the Directorate General of Immigration by looking at and considering all the cases," said Anggiat.
