CHAPTER-11

Seeing the presence of his simbah, Jenar immediately cried loudly again while embracing his simbah. It was seen that Mrs. Ratmi was also near Jenar and was trying to shake Mbah Lukman's hand.

"Patience Nduk, istighfar ..!" said Mbah Lukman while stroking Jenar's head.

"Where's your father Le?" asked Mbah Lukman to Galih who followed him to his wife's resting room.

"Father is guarding Thole Mbah's grave, because in this village if a baby dies, the grave must be guarded for up to seven days, if not guarded, someone often dismantles the baby's grave for a specific purpose Grandma!" answered Galih politely.

"Where's the funeral?" asked Furqon to Galih.

"Thole is buried behind Mas' house." answered Galih making Mbah Lukman and Furqon look at each other.

"Please take Simbah there!" Mbah Lukman's orders to Galih.

"Mbok take a rest Grandma, Simbah has just come from afar and traveled a long way, so rest first Grandma, don't make hot tea for a while!" interrupted Mrs. Ratmi with a worried look.

"It's okay, just rest later, I want to go to my great-grandmother's grave first!" said Mbah Lukman and then walked away from Jenar, Furqon followed Mbah Lukman who was led by Galih to the back door of his house.

Arriving behind the house, Mbah Lukman saw Pak Sapto sitting in the bamboo hall while wearing a sarong and smoking a cigarette.

"Simbah, please... Monggo Mbah, sorry if it's bothering Simbah that you have to come all the way!" said Mr. Sapto immediately put his cigarette in the ashtray which was full of cigarette butts then immediately kissed Mbah Lukman's hand.

"I want to pray at my great-grandfather Le's grave!" Mbah Lukman said, making Pak Sapto's face immediately light up.

"But it's already past midnight, Mbah, Mbok tomorrow!" replied Mr. Sapto looking uncomfortable.

"Well, the graves are only there tho Le, how come I have to wait tomorrow if I can even now?" replied Mbah Lukman who immediately went to the grave of his baby Jenar, followed by Furqon.

"Haduh.. This is bad, piye iki if this is the situation?" Pak Sapto thought, looking worried because the ritual was not over yet, but Mbah Lukman had arrived with Furqon.

Mbah Lukman and Furqon immediately sat on their knees beside the baby's grave while praying fervently. Furqon seemed to stretch out his hands while praying.

Meanwhile, Mbah Lukman seemed to be muttering reciting prayers and memorizing the Koran while patting the ground of the grave and occasionally wrapping his hands according to the size of the grave.

"Sir, how about this, what if Jenar's simbah goes berserk and causes chaos?" Galih whispered to Pak Sapto.

"How else can they be here, don't we want to kick them out!" replied Mr. Sapto looking so uneasy.

Suddenly, when Mbah Lukman was focused on praying, an invisible figure appeared behind Mbah Lukman, which although behind him, Mbah Lukman was aware of.

"Who are you and what do you want?" asked Mbah Lukman silently to a woman wearing a yellow kebaya and hair in a bun typical of Javanese women complete with two gold implants on the left and right sides of her bun, but Mbah Lukman looked shocked when he saw the woman's lower bodywhich turned out to be in the form of a large snake.

"I am the ruler of this village and I don't want you to interfere with my business!" replied a woman with the body of a snake.

"If your business concerns this great-grandfather of mine, then you must face me!" said Mbah Lukman while glancing at a woman that even Furqon could not see.

"This is mine, because Sapto has promised for me, so don't disturb my rights!" said a woman figure firmly.

"Astagfirullah about Adzim... Damn Sapto. Listen, I don't care whoever you are, but I Lukman Muhadi will not be willing to have my children, grandchildren and all of my descendants become an offering or whatever it is for cursed creatures like you! " said Mbah Lukman with an annoyed expression.

"I don't care what you say old man, this is mine and I will take it as mine." the woman firmly did not want to give in to Mbah Lukman.

"Don't dream that you can take my great-grandfather, if you take it, Allah will destroy you and all your followers!" threatened Mbah Lukman while taking out his tasbih from his koko shirt pocket.

"I won't lose because of you old fart, here is my place and it's mine, so it's my right!" said a woman with a snake body and a yellow kebaya looking so angry.

"I don't care what is yours, your rights or your place, what is clear is that this is my great-grandfather and I will not let you take my great-grandfather, my great-grandfather is going to God's heaven while you have to go to hell! Remember, I have no business with you, your business is also with Sapto, so deal with him and don't disturb my descendants or I will destroy you and all your followers as well as your resting place!" said Mbah Lukman then cut the string of his prayer beads until the beads scatteredhis hands.

Saying Asma Allah, Mbah Lukman spread the tasbih in his hand onto the ground where baby Jenar was buried, and for some reason the beads glowed like fireflies in his eyes, then spread all over the grave area mixed with fresh flower petals that covered him. almost the entire burial ground.

The beads of prayer beads that shone even as the fireflies entered the graveyard between the sprinkling of flower petals.

Furqon, who saw his Simbah cut the strings of the tasbih so that the beads of the tasbih fell apart, looked surprised and frowned. However, Furqan knows that if Grandfather has acted outside of reason, it means that something beyond reason has indeed happened, so Furqan only focuses on his prayers and doesn't want to interfere in Grandpa's affairs.

"It's Le, it's all safe, let's go in to see your sister!" asked Mbah Lukman while looking at Furqon who immediately finished his prayer, then Furqon stood up first then guided Mbah Lukman to stand up.

Furqon and Mbah Lukman left the tiny grave which was still strewn with fresh flowers and headed for the overhang behind Pak Sapto's house.

"Wes Le, you don't need to guard your grandson's grave anymore, everything is safe!" said Mbah Lukman to Pak Sapto whose face looked pale.

"It's okay Mbah, let me take care of it here!" replied Mr. Sapto, smiling and awkward.

"Okay, then I'll go in first!" Mbah Lukman said goodbye with a smile and then walked towards the door of the house to enter without noticing Pak Sapto.

"What is this old fart doing at my grandson's grave? What if Nyi Ageng is angry with me? I'm sure that old fart has done things I don't know about and definitely ruined my plans." thought Pak Sapto with such a tense expression and gritted teeth with anger.

"Wes Nduk, who is patient and sincere thhole yo, remember if Allah is more able to protect your child than you, if Allah takes him it means Allah loves him more and wants him to be safe in Heaven!" said Mbah Lukman while sitting on the edge of the divan where Jenar sat leaning to recoverhealth after giving birth.

"But Mbah, I have prayed day and night for the safety of my child, Mbah, why did Allah take him?" Jenar asked, sobbing.

"God knows what is best for his servant, Jenar, believe me everything will be fine, you have to let your child go, let him be calm and happy in heaven Allah, keep praying and don't leave your worship so that one day you can be with him in heaven!" said Furqan while wiping the waterJenar's eyes and stroked his sister's cheek which was swollen from crying so much.

Seeing Furqon's treatment of his wife made Galih a little annoyed, even though he knew Furqon and Jenar were cousins who had been together since childhood and were like siblings.

BAB-11

"Sabar Nduk, istighfar..!" ucap Mbah Lukman sambil mengelus kepala Jenar.
