History Sri Mulyani Indrawati
Sri Mulyani Indrawati is an Indonesian economist and politician who currently serves as the Minister of Finance of Indonesia. She was born on August 26, 1962, in Tanjung Karang, Lampung, Indonesia.
Indrawati received her undergraduate degree from the University of Indonesia in 1986 and her Ph.D. in economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the United States in 1992.
After completing her studies, Indrawati worked at the World Bank for 21 years, holding a number of high-level positions, including as the Director of the Bank's Poverty Reduction and Economic Management network.
In 2005, Indrawati was appointed as the Minister of Finance of Indonesia, becoming the first woman to hold the position. During her time in office, she implemented a number of significant reforms aimed at improving the country's fiscal and economic situation, including efforts to combat corruption, streamline government spending, and increase tax revenue.
In 2010, Indrawati was appointed as the Managing Director of the World Bank, making her the first woman and the first person from a developing country to hold the position. She held the position until 2016, when she returned to Indonesia to serve as the Minister of Finance once again.
Throughout her career, Indrawati has been widely recognized for her contributions to economics and public policy. She has received numerous awards and honors, including being named as one of the world's 100 most powerful women by Forbes magazine in 2013, 2014, and 2015.

Short Biography of Sri Mulyani
She was born with the name Sri Mulyani Indrawati on August 26, 1962 in Lampung. His father, Prof. Dr. Satmoko, is a professor at Semarang State University, and his mother, Prof. Dr. Retno Sriningsih Satmoko, is also a professor at Semarang State University.
Sri Mulayni was born into an educated family, she was the seventh child of 10 siblings. Sri Mulyani's parents always stressed that education was the most important and important thing for their children.
Sri Mulyani Education
Very little information is known about where Sri Mulyani started her elementary school, it is known that she attended SMP Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung from 1975 to 1978, and moved to Semarang to follow her parents then continued her education at SMA Negeri 3Semarang from 1978 to 1981 with the title of school champion.

Lecture at the Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia
After graduating from high school, Sri Mulyani then chose to continue her education in the Department of Economics, Development Study Program (ESP) at the University of Indonesia, even though her parents hoped that Sri Mulyani could choose medicine or engineering.
At her campus, Sri Mulyani really liked economics, she then graduated with the title of Best Graduate in 1986.
After her bachelor's degree, Sri Mulyani then worked as a researcher at the Institute for Economics and Society Research (LPEM) and also as a research assistant at the Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia where she registered and was accepted to work before her undergraduate degree.
Master and Doctoral University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, USA
This later added a lot to Sri Mulani's experience in the economic field. Several years later, the UI Faculty of Economics then offered Sri Mulyani a Masters scholarship abroad. He then enrolled at the University of Birmingham in England and was accepted but Sri Mulyani rejected the opportunity.
He then accepted a school offer from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in the United States as well as offered a doctoral or Ph.D program for Sri Mulyani and he could bring his family to live in America.
Sri Mulyani completed her master's program in 1990 by taking a concentration in Public Finance and Urban Economy. Meanwhile, her husband, Tonny Sumartono, took the Master's program in Financial Management (Finance).
Living in America made Sri Mulyani and her husband live mediocrely because only Sri Mulyani was funded by scholarships while her husband was forced to sell his car to pay for his studies.
After completing the master's program, Sri Mulyani then continued her education by taking a Ph.D or Doctoral program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. While taking the doctoral program, Sri Mulyani worked as an assistant lecturer in statistics at her campus.
She also gave birth to her first child, Dewinta Illinia, in the United States. Sri Mulyani's doctoral program was completed in 1992 with a dissertation on Income Tax, she completed her master's and doctorate in just four years.
Become Deputy Director of LPEM UI
After completing his doctoral program, he then returned to Indonesia and worked as deputy director of education and training at the Institute for Economic and Community Research (LPEM) at the University of Indonesia until 1995 and then became Deputy Head of Research at LPEM until1998.
He also served as Head of the Public Policy Planning Masters Program at UI until 1999. In the early 2000s, Sri Mulyani lived in Atalanta, United States of America and became a US-AID consultant.
He is also a supervisor and assistant to students who live and study in the United States. Then in 2002, Sri Mulyani moved to Washington DC and worked as Executive Director at the IMF.
SBY's Minister of Finance
After several years working at the IMF, in 2004, Sri Mulyani then returned to Indonesia after being appointed by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono as the State Minister for Indonesia's National Development Planning in the United Indonesia cabinet until 2005.
Then moved to become Minister of Finance. Sri Mulyani even served as Coordinating Minister for the Economy during the SBY administration.
At that time, Sri Mulyani was even associated with or involved in the Century Bank scandal which shocked Indonesia in 2008. Then in 2009 Sri Mulyani wrote a letter of resignation to President SBY.
Managing Director of the World Bank
The following year, namely 2010, Sri Mulyani was then appointed as Managing Director of the World Bank replacing Juan Jose Daboub. As managing director of the World Bank, Sri Mulyani is responsible for establishing cooperative relationships with client countries and new members of the World Bank.
Sri Mulyani is also responsible for ensuring the operational strategy of the World Bank as an international institution can run well in order to face new challenges and developments. He worked at the World Bank until 2016 and moved to America.
Minister of Finance in the Joko Widodo era
In 2016, Sri Mulyani returned to Indonesia after having been appointed by President Joko Widodo as Minister of Finance in July 2016.
Then during the reign of Joko Widodo volume II, Sri Mulyani was again trusted as Minister of Finance from 2019 to 2024 in the Advanced Indonesia cabinet.
Sri Mulyani Award
The name Sri Mulyani is not only known in Indonesia, but she is also well-known internationally. She was even chosen as Asia's Best Minister of Finance in 2006 and then Forbes magazine chose her as the 23rd most influential woman in the world in 2008 and as the 2nd most influential woman in Indonesia by Globe Asia magazine in 2007.
