Sri Mulyani Indrawati is an Indonesian economist and politician who currently serves as the Minister of Finance of Indonesia. She was born on August 26, 1962, in Tanjung Karang, Lampung, Indonesia.

Indrawati received her undergraduate degree from the University of Indonesia in 1986 and her Ph.D. in economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the United States in 1992.

After completing her studies, Indrawati worked at the World Bank for 21 years, holding a number of high-level positions, including as the Director of the Bank's Poverty Reduction and Economic Management network.

In 2005, Indrawati was appointed as the Minister of Finance of Indonesia, becoming the first woman to hold the position. During her time in office, she implemented a number of significant reforms aimed at improving the country's fiscal and economic situation, including efforts to combat corruption, streamline government spending, and increase tax revenue.

In 2010, Indrawati was appointed as the Managing Director of the World Bank, making her the first woman and the first person from a developing country to hold the position. She held the position until 2016, when she returned to Indonesia to serve as the Minister of Finance once again.

Throughout her career, Indrawati has been widely recognized for her contributions to economics and public policy. She has received numerous awards and honors, including being named as one of the world's 100 most powerful women by Forbes magazine in 2013, 2014, and 2015.
