Prabowo Takes Oath and Promise as the 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia

HOLIDAY NEWS - Prabowo Subianto took the oath of office at the 2024-2029 President-Vice President Plenary Session at the Nusantara Building, Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Sunday (20/10/2024). 

Prabowo took the oath and promise in front of the members and leadership of the MPR RI. 

"By Allah, I swear that I will fulfill the obligations of the President of the Republic of Indonesia as well and fairly as possible, upholding the Constitution and implementing all its laws and regulations as straight as possible and serving my homeland and nation," said Prabowo. 

This oath marked Prabowo's inauguration as the 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia after Sukarno, Suharto, BJ Habibie, Abdurrahman Wahid, Megawati Soekarnoputri, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, and Joko Widodo. 

On that occasion, the sixth President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono was present, as was the seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo. 

Former vice presidents accompanying SBY and Jokowi, Jusuf Kalla, Boediono and Ma'ruf Amin were also seen attending. 

Of the former presidents, only the fifth President of the Republic of Indonesia, Megawati Soekarnoputri, was absent because she was said to be suffering from flu after a visit to Uzbekistan. 

Meanwhile, Prabowo-Gibran was appointed president and vice president after being declared the winners of the 2024 presidential election by the General Election Commission (KPU) on Wednesday (24/4/2024). 

The pair number 2 in the 2024 presidential election received 96,214,691 votes or 58.59 percent of the total national valid votes, and fulfilled at least 20 percent of the votes in each province spread across 38 provinces. 

HOLIDAY NEWS - Prabowo Subianto mengucapkan sumpah jabatan dalam Sidang Paripurna Presiden-Wakil Presiden 2024-2029 di Gedung Nusantara, Kompleks Parlemen Senayan, Jakarta, Minggu (20/10/2024). 

Prabowo mengucapkan sumpah dan janji di hadapan para anggota dan pimpinan MPR RI. 

“Demi Allah, saya bersumpah akan memenuhi kewajiban Presiden Republik Indonesia dengan sebaik-baiknya dan seadil-adilnya, memegang teguh Undang-Undang Dasar dan menjalankan segala undang-undang dan peraturannya dengan selurus-lurusnya serta berbakti kepada nusa dan bangsa," ujar Prabowo.

Sumpah tersebut menandai peresmian Prabowo menjabat sebagai Presiden ke-8 RI setelah Soekarno, Soeharto, BJ Habibie, Abdurrahman Wahid, Megawati Soekarnoputri, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, dan Joko Widodo.

 

Dalam kesempatan itu, Presiden keenam RI Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono tampak hadir, begitu pun Presiden ketujuh RI Joko Widodo.

Mantan wakil presiden pendamping SBY dan Jokowi, Jusuf Kalla, Boediono, dan Ma'ruf Amin juga terpantau hadir.

Dari para mantan presiden, hanya Presiden kelima RI Megawati Soekarnoputri yang absen karena disebut sedang menderita flu usai lawatan ke Uzbekistan.

Adapun Prabowo-Gibran dilantik menjadi presiden dan wakil presiden setelah ditetapkan sebagai pemenang Pilpres 2024 oleh Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU) pada Rabu (24/4/2024).

Pasangan nomor urut 2 di Pilpres 2024 ini memperoleh suara sebanyak 96.214.691 atau 58,59 persen dari total suara sah nasional, dan memenuhi sedikitnya 20 persen suara di setiap provinsi yang tersebar di 38 provinsi.
