Bottom Bar Google Application Appears with Modern Appearance

Recently Google made adjustments to Google apps, bringing back Material 3 design. 

HOLIDAY NEWS : Google recently made adjustments to the Google application, bringing back the previously discontinued Material 3 design. The return of this design is found in the bottom bar of the Google application. 

This change to the design that Google adopted in 2023 was first discovered by 9to5Google. However, after adopting it for some time in 2023, Google returned to the old design, and now returns to this new look. 

Previously, tab icons would have highlighted capabilities that would allow users to know which tab was being accessed. With this update, Google introduced a pill-shaped indicator that surrounds the tab icon. 

However, this change is reportedly not yet widely available, and users will need to have the latest beta version of the app, namely version 15.40, to be able to find it. The 9to5Google site recommends force-quitting an app from App info if it hasn't already found it. 

Material Design 3 isn't the only thing Google is testing. Recently, Google was reported to be testing a verification feature for Search. Verified companies will get a blue tick, similar to the Brand Indicators for Message Identification (BIMI) feature found in Gmail. 

Previously, the Google Map navigation application launched a new feature that brings practicality to car drivers who have been bothered by not finding a parking space. Now Google Maps presents a feature to search for parking locations and immediately order aka booking. 

Google Map doesn't do it alone, they collaborate with a startup called SpotHero which provides services for finding parking and making reservations, aka ordering in advance. 

Unfortunately, this latest Google Map feature is not yet available in Indonesia but only in the United States and Canada, where it covers more than 8,000 parking areas. In fact, in Indonesia itself, many startups have long been involved in providing search and ordering of vehicle parking bags. 

Meanwhile, as a technology and internet company, Google is committed to expanding the development and adoption of their technology in various sectors, including in global projects to keep planet Earth safe from forest fires. 

Google Research's Climate & Energy Lead, Christopher Van Arsdale, assesses that currently fire teams and agencies handling forest fire cases are still having problems responding quickly.

HOLIDAY NEWS : Baru-baru ini Google melakukan penyesuaian pada aplikasi Google, menghadirkan kembali desain Material 3 yang sebelumnya telah dihentikan penggunaannya. Kehadiran kembali desain ini ditemukan di bar bawah aplikasi Google.

Perubahan dengan desain yang pernah diadopsi Google pada tahun 2023 ini pertama kali ditemukan oleh 9to5Google. Namun setelah beberapa lama mengadopsinya pada tahun 2023, Google kembali ke desain lama, dan kini kembali ke tampilan baru ini.

Sebelumnya, ikon tab akan disoroti kemampuan yang memungkinkan pengguna mengetahui tab yang tengah diakses. Dengan update ini, Google memperkenalkan indikator berbentuk pil yang mengelilingi ikon tab.

Namun, perubahan ini dilaporkan belum tersedia secara luas, dan pengguna perlu memiliki aplikasi versi beta terbaru, yaitu versi 15.40, untuk bisa menemukannya. Situs 9to5Google merekomendasikan menghentikan aplikasi secara paksa dari info App jika belum menemukannya.

Desain Material 3 bukanlah satu-satunya hal yang tengah diuji oleh Google. Baru-baru ini, Google dilaporkan tengah mencoba fitur verifikasi untuk Search. Perusahaan terverifikasi akan mendapatkan tanda centang biru, serupa fitur dari Brand Indictors for Message Identification (BIMI) yang ditemukan di Gmail.

Google Map tidak melakukannya sendirian, mereka bekerja sama dengan sebuah startup bernama SpotHero yang memang menyediakan layanan untuk mencarikan parkir dan melakukan booking alias memesan lebih dulu. 

Sayangnya, fitur terbaru Google Map ini belum hadir di Indonesia melainkan baru di Amerika Serikat dan Kanada yang menjangkau lebih dari 8.000 area parkir. Padahal di Indonesia sendiri sejak lama sudah banyak startup yang ikut menyediakan pencarian dan pemesanan kantong parkir kendaraan.

Sementara itu, sebagai perusahaan teknologi dan internet, Google berkomitmen untuk memperluas pengembangan dan adopsi teknologi mereka di berbagai sektor termasuk dalam proyek global untuk menjaga keselamatan planet Bumi dari peristiwa kebakaran hutan.

Climate & Energy Lead Google Research, Christopher Van Arsdale menilai bahwa saat ini tim pemadam dan lembaga yang menangani kasus kebakaran hutan masih terkendala dalam melakukan respon cepat.
