Over more than a decade, the agreement allegedly "has given Google access to a scale that its competitors cannot match" Judge Mehta said.

With these privileges, Google reportedly controls about 90 percent of the general search market share, far surpassing its closest competitor, Bing.
Threatened to sell part of Search business This ruling does not include compensation or punishment for Google's monopoly behavior.
Judge Mehta will decide on this matter in the future.
One potential penalty could be that Google is forced to change the way the company runs its Google Search business, or even sell part of its Google Search business.

The lengthy process would allow Google to fend off the possibility of a judge banning default search agreements, Hay said, but it probably wouldn't protect the company from a class-action lawsuit citing the judge's finding that advertisers were cheated with monopoly prices.
This trial is said to be the largest antitrust trial in the US in the last 25 years, after the Microsoft browser antitrust trial (1990).
At that time, the Justice Department targeted the software maker in an antitrust lawsuit that accused it of abusing the dominance of its Windows operating system on personal computers to lock out competition.

The US District Court's decision is a harsh rebuke to Google's oldest and most important business. The company is said to have spent US$ 26 billion or Rp. 419.92 trillion (exchange rate Rp. 16,151) to make its search engine the default choice on mobile phones and web browsers, effectively preventing other competitors from succeeding in the market.

The move has given him the scale to block would-be competitors such as Microsoft's Bing and DuckDuckGo, the US government alleges in a historic antitrust lawsuit filed since Donald Trump's administration.

Mehta mengatakan bahwa perjanjian perusahaan untuk menjadi mesin pencari default pada perangkat dan peramban web dapat merugikan persaingan, sehingga mempersulit para pesaing untuk menantang dominasi Google.
