Filming Without Permit in Protected  Sand Dunes, Katy Perry Investigated

HOLIDAY NEWS - Katy Perry released  the video clip of her latest single, 'Lifetimes', last week. Not long after it was broadcast, the video was already experiencing problems.

The Spanish government is reportedly investigating Katy Perry regarding the music video which has been watched 2.3 million times on YouTube. This 39 year old singer is suspected of taking a filming location in a prohibited place without permission. In the video, Katy Perry appears to be enjoying her time on the Balearic Islands, Spain, Mediterranean. However, there are several parts of the video where the images were taken in protected natural areas.

The scene in question is when actor Orlando Bloom's girlfriend is seen jumping and running across the sand dunes in the Salines Natural Park, a protected area of S'Espalmador on the islands of Ibiza and Formentera.

S'Espalmador is one of the most ecologically valuable sites on the island. The 1.8-mile stretch of S'Espalmador has been part of the Ses Salines de Ibiza and Formentera natural park since 1980.

The production company behind the video, WeOwnTheCity, did not have permission to film at the location, the Balearic Islands environment department claimed.

The environmental department is also investigating potential damage to the dunes. Neither WeOwnTheCity nor Katy Perry have responded to this case.

HOLIDAY NEWS -
