HOLIDAY NEWS - Technology giant Google released a Google Doodle with the theme of the 2024 Paris Olympics today, Friday (26/7/2024). What does the Google Doodle icon mean today? 

Today's Google Doodle was created by Google to mark the start of the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics. The 2024 Paris Olympics are scheduled to last for two and a half weeks, until August 11, 2024. 

This year is the third time Paris has hosted the Olympics. Previously, Paris had hosted this sporting event in 1900 and 1924. 

206 countries will participate in the 2024 Olympics, including Indonesia. This year's Paris Olympics will feature 329 events in 32 sports, including athletics, swimming, basketball, gymnastics and many more. 

Google Doodle is a project from Google that displays illustrations of special moments, famous figures and other iconic cultures. Google Doodles are spontaneous and often unpredictable to users. 

Google Doodles generally appear on the start page of the Google browser in the form of simple illustrations, animations, videos, and even games. Today, Google Doodle shows the excitement of the first day of the 2024 Paris Olympics. 

Meaning of Google Doodle Paris 2024 Olympics

This Google Doodle for the Paris 2024 Olympics is here in animated form. Quoting Google Doodles, today's illustration is titled "Paris Olympics Begins". The significance of today's Google Doodle is to celebrate the 2024 Summer Olympics being held in Paris, France. 

The Google Doodle animation shows birds and ducks passing in a parade along the River Seine. The birds wear various sports attributes. There were those wearing gymnastics clothes, holding baseballs, surfing, holding tennis rackets and balls, and even throwing balls. 

While the birds were crossing the river, silhouettes of people, tall buildings and colorful fireworks appeared behind them. Completing the animated identity, Google added the words "Google" below it, surrounded by gold bird feathers. 

Every animal that appears in today's Google Doodle is an animal commonly found on the streets of Paris and has become an icon for the city. One of the animals appearing in Google Doodle this time is the Rouen duck. 

The Rouen duck is a species of duck that is often found in the City of Paris. The fur color is abstract, a combination of brown, white and dark blue. Many Parisians keep Rouen ducks as livestock for consumption. 

Apart from Rouen ducks, there are also pigeons, geese, crows and sparrows taking part in today's Google Doodle parade. 

What are the Themes and Icons of the 2024 Paris Olympics? 

The 2024 Paris Olympics carries the theme "Let's Move and Celebrate" which means let's move and celebrate. This theme was created to inspire everyone to join in the fun of summer. 

Apart from this theme, the organizers also created a tagline entitled "Ouvrons Grand les Jeux" which means wide open competition. Through this message, Parisians welcome everyone from all over the world to participate in the games. 

This is in line with the vision of the 2024 Paris Olympics to create a competition that is open to everyone around the world. Apart from setting a theme, the 2024 Paris Olympics created a unique mascot that became an icon for the games

The mascot for the 2024 Paris Olympics is Phyrge, whose shape comes from the traditional Parisian hat, namely the frigid hat. The name and design of the Phyrge mascot depict freedom while representing French allegorical figures.

Google Doodle hari ini dibuat Google untuk menandai dimulainya Olimpiade Musim Panas Paris 2024. Olimpiade Paris 2024 dijadwalkan berlangsung selama dua setengah Minggu, hingga 11 Agustus 2024.

Tahun ini adalah kali ketiga Paris menjadi tuan rumah pelaksanaan Olimpiade. Sebelumnya, Paris pernah menjadi tuan rumah pesta olahraga ini pada 1900 dan 1924.
