The Sturdy Kaaba Stairs, Made from 6.5 Tons of Teak Wood

HOLIDAY NEWS - The Kaaba at the Grand Mosque, Makkah consists of high quality elements. The stairs are said to be made of superior teak wood.
Reporting from the SPA news agency, Monday (22/7/2024), this staircase made of teak wood is 5.65 meters long, 4.80 meters high and 1.88 meters wide. The total weight reaches 6,500 kg or 6.5 tonnes.
The Kaaba stairs were first introduced in 2000. This is said to be the commitment of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Nabawi Mosque to innovation.

Apart from using high quality teak wood, the Kaaba stairs are supported by sophisticated equipment, such as 24 batteries and light bulb holders to illuminate the inside of the Kaaba. The stairwell also features central AC ventilation and several tanks, including three for air conditioning and one for cleaning the Kaaba.

This staircase functions as a connection to enter the Kaaba. As is known, the position of the Kaaba door is quite high, around the height of an average adult when they raise their hands.

According to Ibn Jubair's statement in Al-Kakbah Al-Musyarrafah wa Al-Hajar Al-Aswad (Ru'yah 'Ilmiyyah) by Muhammad Abdul Hamid Asy-Syarqawi and Muhammad Raja'i Ath-Thahlawi translated by Luqman Junaidi and Khalifurrahman Fath, the door of Ka The 'bah is located between the Iraqi pillars and the Hajar pillarsAswad, 5.1 meters away.
The height of the Kaaba door from the ground is around 2.9 meters. The current door is from Constantinople in 1633 AD, all silver plated and decoratively carved.
According to the latest measurements, the Kaaba door is 312 cm long, 168 cm wide and 50 cm thick. The Kaaba door contains 280 grams of pure gold and contains Islamic decorations and a number of verses from the Koran.
To enter through the door, a special ladder is needed. Stairs will be prepared only when there is a need. One of them was during the Kaaba washing procession carried out by the Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region, Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Sunday (21/7/2024) yesterday.

HOLIDAY NEWS - Ka'bah di Masjidil Haram, Makkah terdiri dari elemen-elemen berkualitas tinggi. Tangganya disebut terbuat dari kayu jati yang unggul.
Dilansir dari kantor berita SPA, Senin (22/7/2024), tangga yang terbuat dari kayu jati ini memiliki panjang 5,65 meter, tinggi 4,80 meter, dan lebar 1,88 meter. Total beratnya mencapai 6.500 kg atau 6,5 ton.
Tangga Ka'bah pertama kali dikenalkan pada 2000. Hal ini disebut merupakan komitmen Presidensi Umum untuk Urusan Masjidil Haram dan Masjid Nabawi terhadap inovasi.

Selain menggunakan kayu jati berkualitas tinggi, tangga Ka'bah didukung peralatan canggih, seperti 24 baterai dan dudukan bohlam untuk menerangi bagian dalam Ka'bah. Tangga juga dilengkapi ventilasi AC sentral dan beberapa tangki, termasuk tiga untuk AC dan satu untuk membersihkan Ka'bah.

Tangga ini berfungsi sebagai penghubung masuk Ka'bah. Seperti diketahui, posisi pintu Ka'bah cukup tinggi, sekitar tinggi rata-rata orang dewasa saat mengangkat tangan.

Menurut keterangan Ibnu Jubair dalam Al-Kakbah Al-Musyarrafah wa Al-Hajar Al-Aswad (Ru'yah 'Ilmiyyah) karya Muhammad Abdul Hamid Asy-Syarqawi dan Muhammad Raja'i Ath-Thahlawi yang diterjemahkan Luqman Junaidi dan Khalifurrahman Fath, pintu Ka'bah terletak di antara rukun Iraqi dan rukun Hajar Aswad, sejauh 5,1 meter.
Tinggi pintu Ka'bah dari permukaan tanah sekitar 2,9 meter. Pintu yang ada saat ini berasal dari Konstantinopel pada 1633 M, semuanya berlapis perak dan pahatan dekorasi.
Menurut hasil pengukuran terkini, pintu Ka'bah memiliki panjang 312 cm, lebar 168 cm, dan ketebalan 50 cm. Pintu Ka'bah mengandung 280 gram emas murni dan terdapat dekorasi Islam dan sejumlah ayat Al-Qur'an.
Untuk masuk lewat pintu itu, diperlukan tangga khusus. Tangga akan disiapkan hanya saat ada keperluan. Salah satunya saat prosesi pencucian Ka'bah yang dilakukan Wakil Gubernur Wilayah Makkah Pangeran Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz atas nama Penjaga Dua Masjid Suci, Raja Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minggu (21/7/2024) kemarin.
