In its official announcement, Google stated that early testing of its Privacy Sandbox API shows that its efforts to improve online privacy while offering a way for advertisers to make money “has the potential to achieve these results.” But unfortunately, Google also admits itthat implementing these APIs will require “hard work from many participants” to achieve their goals. 

Instead of deprecating the use of third-party cookies, we will introduce a new experience in Chrome that allows people to make informed choices across their web browsing, and they can adjust those choices at any time. We are discussing this new pathway with regulators, and will engage with industry as we roll it out. 

Google also added that they will not abandon the Privacy Sandbox API, and stated that they will continue to develop and make improvements to the API. 

In the future, Google also plans to add more privacy features to Chrome, including including IP protection for the browser's Incognito mode.
