THE FALL OF DYAH PITALOKA CITARASEMI

THE FALL OF DYAH PITALOKA CITARASEMI
Dyah Pitaloka Citarasemi was the daughter of Mahaparabu Linggabuana, from the United Galuh-Sunda Kingdom, this daughter was the one who would be married to Hayam Wuruk, King of Majapahit.

When they arrived at Bubat, the bridal party was disappointed, because Gajah Mada wanted the group of the Sunda King who was carrying the Princess to hand over the Princess as a sign of submission. This clearly angered the King and Patih of Sunda. They refused and cursed at Gajah Mada not to talk too much, and ordered Gajah Mada to bring Hayam Wuruk to welcome the bride and groom, but Gajah Mada, supported by Bre Wengker (later Hayam Wuruk's father-in-law) refused.

So suddenly, after Gajah Mada left Bubat he brought a fairly large Majapahit army, the Majapahit troops attacked the Sundanese group which only consisted of a few hundred people.

An unequal war broke out, one by one the Sundanese troops died, and even Maharaja Prabu Linggabuana died after fighting bravely with his officers.

Finding his father and all the Sundanese troops dead, Dyah Pitaloka, who did not want to be taken as a prisoner, chose to commit suicide.
