Unfortunately, as of the time this article was written, there is no updated list of online gambling sites that will be blocked in 2024. However, by knowing that several online gambling sites have been blocked, it is hoped that the public will be alert and avoid access to illegal online gambling sites.
Quoting from the official Kominfo website, Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie stated that he had succeeded in cutting off access to 1,904,246 online gambling content spread across various websites and digital platforms.
Furthermore, Minister Budi Arie also added that Kominfo eradicates almost 10,000 pieces of online gambling content every day.
In order to eradicate online gambling from its roots, Kominfo is also collaborating with digital platform organizers such as Meta and Google. Apart from that, handling of online gambling content is carried out based on keywords.
Based on the results of coordination between Kominfo and digital platform organizers, 20,241 keywords were found spread across the Google search engine and 2,637 keywords on the Meta platform. As additional information, Kominfo has also blocked educational and government institution sites that are indicated to be inserting phishing content.
From Kominfo's findings, there are 14,823 educational institution sites that contain online gambling content. Meanwhile, for government agency sites there are 17,001 pieces of content.
Even though Kominfo has cut off access to online gambling content, this does not necessarily mean that the online gambling problem has been completely resolved.
For this reason, Kominfo also urges the general public to actively combat illegal online gambling activities in their respective environments, whether in their families, educational institutions or workplaces.
