– Too much data in your browser can reduce the storage capacity on your device. Additionally, a browser that stores too much data will also reduce page loading speed.
Therefore, you need to reduce unnecessary data or cache in your browser, including Microsoft Edge. Here's an easy way to clear the cache and browsing data in Microsoft Edge, quoted from Makeuseof.
Clearing Cache and Browsing Data on Desktop
Edge, the browser from Microsoft, is more widely used on laptops. If you are one of its users and want to clear the cache or browsing data, you have to open the app first and click on the three dots in the top right corner.
Alternatively, you can press Alt + F shortcut keys. After that, scroll the screen and click on the Settings button. When the Settings page is open, go to the Privacy, Search and Services menu at the bottom of Profile.
Next, scroll down the page, click the Clear Browsing Data menu and tap the Choose What to Delete button. If the Clear Browsing Data box appears, click the Time Range drop-down and select the desired time, then click Clear Now.
Clearing Cache and Browsing Data on Phone
Microsoft Edge can also be used on mobile phones and you can still clear the cache or browsing data. Much the same as the desktop version, open the Edge app, tap the three short lines at the bottom of the screen, then click Settings.
Next, go to Clear Browsing Data within the Privacy and Security menu. After that, check the Browsing History and Cached Images And Files boxes. When you're ready to clear the cache and browsing data in Edge, click Clear Data.
