- Starlink, the satellite internet service owned by Elon Musk has started selling home internet packages that offer unlimited quota.

On Wednesday (10/04/2024) Starlink Indonesia launched its website, providing detailed information about the service.
The subscription plan for home users, dubbed a 'family-friendly' service, includes "unlimited high-speed and low-latency internet."
Apart from the monthly fee, customers are also advised to purchase hardware, which functions as a signal receiver, at a price of IDR 7.8 million. The device is described as having "accustomed standards."

"Reliable high-speed internet wherever you live. With a monthly fee of IDR 750,000 and a hardware fee of IDR 7,800,000," reads the statement on the website.
Apart from home services, Starlink also provides services for users while traveling and on ships or waters. However, further information about this service is not yet available on the site.
The Starlink application, which is useful for managing satellite internet services, is available on the Google Play Store and Apps Store. Although Indonesia is not yet registered for the Starlink service, the availability map on the website shows that the service will be available in Indonesia in 2024.

Wayan Tony Supriyanto as Director General of Post and Information Technology (Dirjen PPI) of the Ministry of Communication and Information stated that Elon Musk's Starlink had applied for two permits in Indonesia. Permit to use VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) technology and permit as a telecommunications service provider or Internet Service Provider (ISP).

Although permission for VSAT services has been received, permission for ISP services is still in the process of collaborating with the Network Access Provider (NAP), a process that is still ongoing.
