The reason why Megawati didn't play when Red Sparks was beaten by AI Peppers

Red Sparks coach Ko Hee Jin revealed the reason for not playing Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi when his team lost to AI Peppers in the Korean Volleyball League.
AI Peppers won 3-1 (25-17, 25-21, 14-25, 25-19) over Red Sparks in the sixth round of the Korean Volleyball League, Wednesday (13/3).
In this match, Red Sparks did not field core players such as Megawati and Giovanna Milana alias Gia. Apart from that, Red Sparks also rested core players such as Jung Ho Young and Yeum Hye Seon, and Lee So Young was absent due to injury.
The absence of Megawati and Gia was able to be exploited by AI Peppers to win.
Red Sparks coach Ko Hee Jin also revealed the reasons for not playing the main players against AI Peppers.
"Today the core players are focusing on maintaining their fitness. They need to recover and recharge [stamina], so we fielded young players in today's game," said Ko Hee Jin, quoted from YouTube SBS Sports.
Red Sparks has confirmed that they will qualify for the Korean Volleyball League playoffs after securing third place.
In the playoff round, the Red Sparks will meet the team that finished in second place in the final standings of the regular phase of the Korean Volleyball League, either the Pink Spiders or Hillstate.
Now Hillstate is at the top of the Korean Volleyball League standings with 77 points. Meanwhile, the Pink Spiders are in second place with 76 points from 35 matches.
Red Sparks, Hillstate and Pink Spiders still have one match left in the regular phase. Pink Spiders will face GS Caltex on Friday (15/3). Hillstate will face AI Peppers on Saturday (16/3). Meanwhile, Red Sparks will play IBK on Sunday (17/3).

-- Pelatih Red Sparks Ko Hee Jin mengungkapkan alasan tidak memainkan Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi saat timnya kalah dari AI Peppers di Liga Voli Korea.
AI Peppers menang 3-1 (25-17, 25-21, 14-25, 25-19) atas Red Sparks pada pertandingan putaran keenam Liga Voli Korea, Rabu (13/3).
Dalam pertandingan ini Red Sparks tidak menurunkan pemain-pemain inti seperti Megawati dan Giovanna Milana alias Gia. Selain itu pemain inti seperti Jung Ho Young dan Yeum Hye Seon juga diistirahatkan oleh Red Sparks, serta Lee So Young absen karena cedera.
Ketidakhadiran Megawati dan Gia ini mampu dimanfaatkan AI Peppers untuk memetik kemenangan.
Pelatih Red Sparks Ko Hee Jin pun mengungkapkan alasan tidak memainkan para pemain inti saat melawan AI Peppers.
"Hari ini para pemain inti sedang fokus pada menjaga kebugaran mereka. Mereka perlu untuk memulihkan dan mengisi ulang [stamina], jadi kami menurunkan pemain muda dalam permainan hari ini," ucap Ko Hee Jin dikutip dari Youtube SBS Sports.
Red Sparks sudah memastikan diri lolos ke babak playoff Liga Voli Korea setelah mengamankan posisi di peringkat ketiga.
Pada babak playoff Red Sparks akan bertemu tim yang finis di peringkat kedua klasemen akhir fase reguler Liga Voli Korea antara Pink Spiders atau Hillstate.
Kini Hillstate berada di puncak klasemen sementara Liga Voli Korea dengan 77 poin. Sedangkan Pink Spiders di peringkat kedua dengan mengemas 76 poin dari 35 pertandingan.
Red Sparks, Hillstate, dan Pink Spiders masih menyisakan satu laga di fase reguler. Pink Spiders akan melawan GS Caltex pada Jumat (15/3). Hillstate akan menghadapi AI Peppers pada Sabtu (16/3). Sedangkan Red Sparks akan melawan IBK pada Minggu (17/3).
