Megawati's Smash Again Claims Victims, Two Hillstate Players Get Headshot, Including the Dancing Queen
- Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi shined again while defending her team, Red Spraks, in the South Korean Volleyball League.
Megawati Hangestri gained the most points for the Red Sparks when they overthrew the top team in the Korean Volleyball League, Suwon Hyundai Hillstate on Sunday (4/2/2024).
The Red Sparks vs Hillstate duel had to go down to a five-set battle. Both teams played a fairly tight and fierce match.
The match which was held at the Daejeon Chungmu Gymnasium finally ended with the Red Sparks winning 3-2 (25-23, 22-25, 25-22, 20-25, 15-10).
Megawati contributed 31 points for the Red Sparks with Megawati's attack success rate of 52.94 percent.
One of Megawati's actions that was in the spotlight was when her lightning smash killed a Hillstate player.
This volleyball player's smash from Jember, East Java resulted in a headshot or hitting a Hillstate player in the face, not just once but twice.
Megawati's first headshot moment occurred in the first set when Megawati's spike hit the head of Hillstate's number 12 player, Lee Da Hyeon.
The player who is nicknamed the queen of Korean volleyball dancing was about to block when Megawati smashed.
But unfortunately, the ball actually hit his head. Even though it wasn't that hard, the Korean volleyball dance queen stroked the part of her head that was hit by Megawati's smash.
Megawati's shot resulted in points and gave the Red Sparks a 20-19 lead.
The second moment occurred in the third set, when Megawati's shot hit Hillstate's number 14 player, Yang Hyo Jin, in the face.
Megawati's smash this time was faster than her previous headshot. Even Yang Hyo Jin grimaced in pain.
Hyo Jin covered her face and stroked her face in reaction to Megawati's hard blow.
Megawati's additional 31 points made her even more established as the main points earner for the Red Sparks.
Now Megawati has scored 559 points, surpassing her idol, Kim Yeon Kyung from Pink Spiders who scored 552 points.
With this total of points, Mega is now included in the list of the six top scorers of the South Korean Volleyball League.
The win held significant significance for the Red Sparks. Now they are getting closer in points to the team ranked third in the standings.
Red Sparks is still in fourth place with 41 points, but Megawati et al are now only 2 points behind GS Caltex who is in third place.
Apart from that, the Red Sparks also successfully collected a hat trick of wins in the South Korean Women's Volleyball League.
The Red Sparks' previous two wins were over IBK (3-1) and IBK (0-3).
Meanwhile, Hyundai Hillstate still tops the South Korean Women's Volleyball League standings with 62 points.

Megawati Hangestri mendulang poin terbanyak bagi Red Sparks saat menumbangkan tim pemuncak klasemen Liga Voli Korea, Suwon Hyundai Hillstate pada Minggu (4/2/2024).
Duel Red Sparks vs Hillstate harus dilalui sampai pertarungan lima set. Kedua tim memainkan pertandingan yang cukup ketat dan sengit.
Laga yang digelar di Gimnasium Daejeon Chungmu itu akhirnya berakhir dengan kemenangan Red Sparks 3-2 (25-23 , 22-25, 25-22, 20-25, 15-10).
Megawati menyumbang 31 poin bagi Red Sparks dengan tingkat keberhasilan serangan Megawati sebesat 52,94 persen.
Salah satu aksi Megawati yang menjadi sorotan adalah ketika smash petirnya memakan korban pemain Hillstate.
Smash pevoli asal Jember Jawa Timur ini berbuah headshot atau mengenai wajah pemain Hillstate, bukan hanya sekali namun dua kali.
Momen headshot Megawati pertama terjadi pada set pertama ketika spike Megawati membentur kepala pemain nomor punggung 12 Hillstate, Lee Da Hyeon.
Pemain yang dijuluki ratu joget voli Korea ini hendak melakukan blok saat Megawati melakukan smash.
Namun apesnya, bola justru mengenai kepalanya. Meski tak begitu keras namun sang ratu joget voli Korea sempat mengelus-elus bagian kepala yang terkena smash Megawati.
Pukulan Megawati itu berbuah poin dan membawa Red Sparks unggul 20-19.
Momen kedua terjadi pada set ketiga, saat tembakan Megawati mengenai wajah pemain nomor 14 Hillstate yaitu Yang Hyo Jin.
Smash Megawati kali ini lebih kencang dibanding saat headshot sebelumnya. Bahkan Yang Hyo Jin sampai meringis kesakitan.
Hyo Jin sampai menutup dan mengelus-elus wajahnya sebagai reaksi atas pukulan keras Megawati itu.
Tambahan 31 poin Megawati membuat dirinya semakin mengukuhkan sebagai pendulang poin utama bagi Red Sparks.
Kini Megawati telah mengemas 559 poin, melewati idolanya, Kim Yeon Kyung dari Pink Spiders yang mencetak 552 poin.
Dengan total poin itu, Mega kini masuk dalam daftar enam top skor Liga Voli Korea Selatan.
Kemenangan itu memiliki arti penting bagi Red Sparks. Kini mereka semakin dekat poinnya dengan tim peringkat tiga klasemen.
Red Sparks memang masih berada di posisi empat dengan 41 poin, namun Megawati dkk kini hanya terpaut 2 poin dari GS Caltex yang menduduki urutan ketiga.
Di samping itu, Red Sparks juga sukses mengumpulkan hattrick kemenangan di Liga Voli Putri Korea Selatan.
Dua kemenangan Red Sparks sebelumnya diraih atas IBK (3-1) dan IBK (0-3).
Sementara Hyundai Hillstate masih memuncaki klasemen Liga Voli Putri Korea Selatan dengan 62 poin.
