Uproar over the verdict of the hacker boss who owns Sarang Bjorka

- The United States (US) court has sentenced the hacker who owns Breach Forums, Conor Brian Fitzpatrick. The hacker nicknamed Pompompurin was sentenced to 20 years of supervised release.
He will serve a series of sentences during that time. One of the punishments included is house arrest for the first two years. Fitzpatrick was also required to use GP tracking and receive mental health treatment.
In the first year of his sentence, he was not allowed to use the internet. Additionally, officers must be allowed to install monitoring software on their computers.
Online sales activities are also prohibited. Fitzpatrick shouldn't do it during his junior year and it shouldn't happen to any other person or entity.
Internet sales are also prohibited for auction sites. The ruling also states that sales are prohibited without approval from the court or probation officer.
“After that year the defendant may not sell or offer to sell any items on the internet to any person or entity without prior approval and permission from the court or probation officer. "Including, not limited to, selling goods on auction sites," explained the decision, quoted from Bleeping Computer, Wednesday (24/1/2024).
Finally, Pompompurin is obliged to pay compensation for the losses of its victims. The amount of money paid will be announced later.
Pompurin was arrested in March 2023, but was soon released on bail of US$300 thousand from his parents. He admits to being the owner of BreachForum.
His home in New York, USA, was also searched after the arrest. A News 12 Westchester TV station report said investigators took several bags of evidence from the house.
For your information, Breach Forums is a large and quite popular hacker forum over the past year. The site emerged after another famous forum, Raid Forums, was disbanded by law enforcement in March 2022.
The name of the site is also quite well known in Indonesia after a lot of Indonesian people's data was sold by a hacker named Bjorka. The data starts from prepaid SIM registration, BPJS Health, and PeduliLindungi.

- Pengadilan Amerika Serikat (AS) telah memberikan hukuman pada hacker pemilik Breach Forums, Conor Brian Fitzpatrick. Peretas dengan nama sebutan Pompompurin dihukum selama 20 tahun pembebasan yang diawasi.
Dia akan menjalani serangkaian hukuman selama waktu tersebut. Salah satu yang masuk dalam hukuman adalah tahanan rumah selama dua tahun pertama. Fitzpatrick juga diwajibkan menggunakan pelacakan GP dan menerima perawatan kesehatan mental.
Pada tahun pertama hukumannya, dia tidak diperbolehkan menggunakan internet. Selain itu, petugas harus diizinkan menginstall software pemantauan di komputernya.
Aktivitas penjualan secara online juga dilarang dilakukan. Fitzpatrick tak boleh melakukannya selama tahun pertama dan ini tidak boleh bagi orang maupun badan lain.
Penjualan di internet dilarang dilakukan pula untuk situs lelang. Putusan juga menyebutkan penjualan dilarang dilakukan tanpa persetujuan dari pengadilan atau petugas percobaan.
"Setelah tahun tersebut tergugat tidak boleh menjual atau menawarkan menjual barang apapun di internet untuk orang atau entitas tanpa persetujuan awal dan izin dari pengadilan atau petugas masa percobaan.
Termasuk, tidak terbatas pada, menjual barang pada situs lelang," jelas putusan tersebut, dikutip dari Bleeping Computer, Rabu (24/1/2024).
Terakhir, Pompompurin diwajibkan membayar ganti rugi untuk kerugian para korbannya. Jumlah uang yang dibayarkan akan diumumkan nanti.
Pompurin ditangkap pada Maret 2023 lalu, namun tak lama dilepaskan dengan jaminan sebesar US$300 ribu dari orang tuanya. Dia mengakui sebagai pemilik BreachForum.
Rumahnya di New York AS juga ikut digeledah setelah penangkapan tersebut. Laporan stasiun TV News 12 Westchester menyebutkan penyelidik membawa beberapa kantong barang bukti dari rumah itu.
Sebagai informasi, Breach Forums merupakan forum hacker besar dan cukup populer selama setahun lalu. Situs itu muncul setelah forum terkenal lainnya, Raid Forums dibubarkan oleh penegak hukum pada Maret 2022 lalu.
Nama situs itu juga cukup dikenal di Indonesia setelah banyak data masyarakat Indonesia dijual oleh hacker bernama Bjorka. Data tersebut mulai dari registrasi SIM prabayar, BPJS Kesehatan, dan PeduliLindungi.
