Mark Zuckerberg reveals Meta's future plans

- The founder of Facebook, who has now turned Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, gave clues about the future of the 20-year-old company regarding artificial intelligence, as reported by Business Insider, Sunday (28/1) local time.
In a video, Zuckerberg revealed Meta's big plans to develop artificial general intelligence (AGI) as one of the sectors that many technology companies have paid attention to since the launch of ChatGPT. Zuckerberg himself did not reveal more details about when the AGI miracle would happen or what it would look like in an interview with The Verge.
Mark Mark Zuckerberg has been at the helm of the company since he founded Facebook nearly 20 years ago. Unlike some founders of other big tech companies, the Meta CEO hasn't handed over the reins to anyone else. Meanwhile, Amazon boss Jeff Bezos and Google Larry Page have stepped down after long tenures at their respective companies and are paving the way for the next generation.
Today, Zuckerberg still holds the reins of the company and has made long-term bets on trends like the metaverse, AI and low-cost VR hardware. So far, Zuckerberg has proven to be in control considering that Meta shares rose 168 percent over the last 12 months, pushing its value to just above USD 1 trillion. Bloomberg records also reveal that Zuck's net worth reaches USD 142 billion.
CTO Andrew Bosworth wrote in a December post that making long-term bets on emerging technologies is not easy. There's no guarantee of success and it's certainly not cheap, says Andrew.
“It is also one of the most valuable things a technology company can do and the only way to stay relevant in the long term,” he added.

- Pendiri Facebook yang kini beralih menjadi Meta yaitu Mark Zuckerberg memberikan petunjuk mengenai masa depan perusahaan yang telah berusia 20 tahun terkait kecerdasan buatan, seperti dilaporkan dari Business Insider, Minggu (28/1) waktu setempat.
Dalam sebuah video, Zuckerberg mengungkapkan rencana besar Meta untuk mengembangkan kecerdasan umum buatan atau kecerdasan umum buatan (AGI) sebagai salah satu sektor yang menjadi perhatian banyak perusahaan teknologi sejak peluncuran ChatGPT. Zuckerberg sendiri tidak mengungkapkan lebih detail mengenai kapan keajaiban AGI akan terjadi atau seperti apa bentuknya dalam wawancara dengan The Verge.

Kini, Zuckerberg masih memegang kendali perusahaan dan telah membuat taruhan jangka panjang pada tren seperti metaverse, AI, dan perangkat keras VR yang berbiaya tidak murah. Sejauh ini, Zuckerberg terbukti mampu memegang kendali mengingat saham Meta naik 168 persen selama 12 bulan terakhir sehingga mendorong kekayaannya sedikit di atas USD1 triliun. Catatan Bloomberg juga mengungkapkan kekayaan bersih Zuck mencapai USD142 miliar.
CTO Andrew Bosworth dalam sebuah unggahan bulan Desember menulis bahwa membuat taruhan jangka panjang pada teknologi yang sedang berkembang tidaklah mudah. Tidak ada jaminan untuk berhasil dan tentu saja tidak murah, kata Andrew.
“Ini juga merupakan salah satu hal paling berharga yang bisa dilakukan oleh sebuah perusahaan teknologi dan satu-satunya cara untuk tetap relevan dalam jangka panjang,” tambah dia.
