Google Proves Indonesian Citizens Are Addicted to Online Gambling, Listen!

- Google Trends 2023 reports a number of topics that were searched a lot by users this year. The company from the United States (US) divides it into several major themes.
In Indonesia, online gambling seems to be still sought after by the majority of Indonesian citizens. This can be seen from the dominance of searches for keywords related to this activity throughout the year on Google Indonesia.
Quoting the Google Trends page, searches related to online gambling have increased by up to 1,700%. Searches for this topic continued to increase during the last year period, namely December 2022 to December 2023.
On this page, several topics lead to online gambling searches, for example T***2, which refers to a gambling slot website.
Based on region, West Java is the highest with 100 points. Meanwhile, the other regions with the highest numbers were Banten (73 points), DKI Jakarta (70 points), Lampung (62 points) and Central Kalimantan (60 points).
Queries for a number of other topics related to this search are also labeled as fast. Google interprets this as an extraordinary increase, which could be because the topics are new and few people are searching for them.
Meanwhile, in the 25 search queries, there are several other topics besides T***2 which refer to searches for slots or online gambling. The increase in searches is also extraordinarily high, namely around 300%-800%.
Indonesia itself is currently experiencing an online gambling emergency. As one of the agendas for eradicating online gambling over recent times, the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) has terminated access and/or takendown of 60,582 online gambling content.
Apart from that, in order to suppress transactions related to online gambling, Kominfo has formally asked the Financial Services Authority (OJK) on September 18 2023 to block the accounts involved.
As of July 2023, nearly 2,000 bank accounts were reported to be related to online gambling. The number of complaints ranges from the beginning of the year to July 2023 or around 7 months.
Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi said the Ministry of Communication and Information received 1,859 complaints about the use of banking accounts.

- Google Trends 2023 melaporkan sejumlah topik yang banyak dicari pengguna selama tahun ini. Perusahaan asal Amerika Serikat (AS) itu membaginya dalam beberapa tema besar. Di Indonesia, judi online nampaknya masih dicari oleh sebagian besar orang warga Indonesia. Ini terlihat dari pencarian kata kunci terkait aktivitas tersebut mendominasi sepanjang tahun di Google Indonesia.
Mengutip laman Google Trends, pencarian terkait judi online mengalami peningkatan hingga 1.700%. Pencarian topik tersebut terus meningkat selama periode setahun terakhir yakni Desember 2022 ke Desember 2023 lalu.
Dalam laman tersebut, beberapa topik mengarah ke pencarian judi online, misalnya T***2, yang merujuk pada salah satu website slot judi. Berdasarkan wilayahnya, Jawa Barat menjadi yang tertinggi sebanyak 100 poin. Sementara wilayah terbanyak lainnya adalah Banten (73 poin), DKI Jakarta (70 poin), Lampung (62 poin), dan Kalimantan Tengah (60 poin).
Kueri sejumlah topik lain terkait dengan penelusuran ini juga dilabeli sebagai pesat. Google mengartikannya sebagai adanya peningkatan luar biasa, yang bisa saja karena topik-topik tersebut baru dan hanya sedikit yang menelusurinya.
Sementara itu dalam 25 kueri penelusuran, terdapat beberapa topik lain selain T***2 yang merujuk pada pencarian slot atau judi online. Peningkatan pencarian juga luar biasa tinggi yakni berkisar 300%-800%.
Indonesia sendiri saat ini sedang darurat judi online. Sebagai salah satu agenda pemberantasan judi online selama beberapa waktu terakhir, Kementerian Kominfo (Kominfo) telah melakukan pemutusan akses dan/atau penghapusan (takedown) terhadap 60.582 konten perjudian online.
Selain itu, guna menekan transaksi terkait judi online, Kominfo secara formal telah meminta Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) pada tanggal 18 September 2023 untuk melakukan pemblokiran rekening yang terlibat.
Hingga Juli 2023, hampir 2.000 rekening bank dilaporkan terkait perjudian online. Jumlah aduan itu berkisar sejak awal tahun hingga Juli 2023 atau sekitar 7 bulan. Menteri Komunikasi dan Informatika (Menkominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi mengatakan Kementerian Kominfo menerima 1.859 aduan pemanfaatan rekening perbankan.
