- Smartphone manufacturer Samsung Galaxy will release Galaxy AI in the near future. This technology is said to be debuting in the Galaxy S24 series.
Through this technology, Samsung is democratizing internet access and turning cameras into integrated communication tools in everyday life. Galaxy AI offers a comprehensive artificial intelligence (AI) mobile experience, powered by Samsung-developed on-device AI and cloud-based AI enabled by open collaboration with like-minded industry leaders.

EVP and Head of R&D, Mobile eXperience Business Wonjoon Choi revealed that the reason Samsung Galaxy maximizes the potential of AI is to put openness in the hands of its users. Designed to make everyone's daily lives easier and accessible anywhere, Samsung claims Galaxy AI is universal intelligence on mobile phones that has never existed before.
"Mobile technology has incredible power to support relationships, productivity, creativity and more for people around the world, but until now, we haven't seen mobile AI fuel that in a truly meaningful way," he said in the descriptionwritten, Thursday (21/12/2023). "Galaxy AI is our most comprehensive intelligent offering to date, and it will change the way we think about mobile forever," he continued.
There are a number of aspects that Samsung pays attention to, such as seamless communication, simplified productivity, and unlimited creativity. Furthermore, Samsung also opens up various new possibilities, one of which is AI Live Translate Call. The AI Live Translate Call feature will be embedded in the phone application on Galaxy phones so there is no need for a third-party application.
Wonjoon says the feature will display translations in text form in real time, which he claims will be as easy as turning on captions on videos. The translation process will be handled by on-device AI, so phone conversations and translations will never leave the phone.
Samsung did not reveal what technology 'powers' the AI Live Translate Call feature. The South Korean manufacturer itself has just announced the Gauss generative AI model which has similar features to ChatGPT.
He added that Gauss has three main features which include writing, coding and creating images. Samsung Gauss is currently still used by Samsung employees, but in the future it will be embedded in Samsung products.
To get a glimpse of one benefit that Galaxy AI will provide, let's take a look at what phones will initially be used for, namely calling each other. AI Live Translate Call will soon provide users of the latest Galaxy AI-enabled phones with a personal translator whenever they need it.

Ada sejumlah aspek yang diperhatikan oleh Samsung, seperti komunikasi tanpa hambatan, produktivitas yang disederhanakan, hingga kreativitas yang tak terbatas. Lebih lanjut, Samsung juga membuka berbagai kemungkinan baru, salah satunya AI Live Translate Call.
Fitur AI Live Translate Call akan dibenamkan di aplikasi telepon yang ada di ponsel Galaxy sehingga tidak membutuhkan aplikasi pihak ketiga.
Wonjoon mengatakan fitur ini akan menampilkan terjemahan dalam bentuk teks secara real time, yang diklaim akan semudah mengaktifkan caption di video. Proses penerjemahan akan ditangani oleh AI di perangkat, jadi percakapan telepon dan terjemahan tidak akan meninggalkan ponsel.
Samsung tidak mengungkap teknologi apa yang menjadi 'tenaga' fitur AI Live Translate Call. Produsen asal Korea Selatan itu sendiri baru saja mengumumkan model AI generatif Gauss yang fiturnya mirip seperti ChatGPT.
Dia menambahkan Gauss memiliki tiga fitur utama yang mencakup olah tulisan, kode, dan membuat gambar. Samsung Gauss saat ini masih digunakan oleh karyawan Samsung, tapi ke depannya akan disematkan di produk Samsung.
