Love Scamming is a crime that can happen to anyone in a dating relationship. Recently, 132 foreign nationals (WNA) in Batam were arrested for being perpetrators of the crime of Love Scamming and were deported. Reporting from the official National Police website https://pusiknas.polri.go.id/ the beginning of the fraud occurred under the guise of a romantic relationship because one of the parties really loved their partner.
This feeling of excessive love causes feelings of complete trust in one's partner. This complete trust is an opportunity for love scammers to take advantage of their status to make a profit. The desire to get something makes love scamming behavior possible. Love Scamming occurs because there is an imbalance in love for another person.
One party only enters into a relationship under the pretext of getting something from their partner, one of them getting as much material as possible. These materials can be in the form of money, clothes, or objects that have economic value that can be used for daily activities.

Love Scamming merupakan kejahatan yang dapat terjadi bagi semua orang yang melakukan hubungan berpacaran. Baru-baru ini, 132 Warga Negara Asing (WNA) di batam ditangkap lantaran menjadi pelaku kejahatan Love Scamming hingga dideportasi.

Keinginan untuk mendapat sesuatu, sangat memungkinkan terjadinya perilaku Love scamming. Love Scamming terjadi lantaran adanya ketidak seimbangan rasa cinta erhadap pihal yang lain.
Salah satu pihak hanya menjalin hubungan dengan dalih untuk mendapatkan sesuatu dari pasanganya, salah satunya mendapat materi sebanyak-banyaknya.
Materi tersebut dapat berupa uang, pakaian, maupun benda yang memiliki nilai ekonomis yang dapat digunakan untuk kegiatan sehari-hari.
Tipu muslihat dari pelaku love scamming terhadap pasangannya dapat berjalan mulus karena adanya rasa ikatan kepercayaan satu sama lain itu. Menurut Polri dikutip dari Pusiknas Polri pelaku love scamming akan menghilang sesaat setelah mendapat barang yang menjadi incarannya. Tidak adanya kabar dari pasangan pelaku love scamming itulah yang dirugikan, sehingga penipuan terjadi dan merugikan pihak lain.
“Korban memberi materi lantaran terjebak dalam hubungan berpacaran,” dikutip dari Pusiknas Polri.
Maraknya kasus penipuan yang merugikan dengan nilai yang tidak sedikit, Polri akhirnya memutuskan untuk melakukan pengawasan terhadap pelaku kejahatan love scamming. Pelaku penipuan Love Scamming di tataran hukum dijerat dengan Informasi dan Transaksi Elektronik (ITE). “Pasal 28 ayat 1 juncto Pasal 45 Ayat 1 UU Informasi dan Transaksi Elektronik,” dikutip dari laman Pusiknas Polri. Menurut data Polri, dilansir dari Pusiknas Polri pelaku kejahatan love scamming dapat menjerat berbagai lapisan masyarakat dengan beragam profesi.
Love scamming tidak hanya menjerat warga negara biasa, akan tetapi juga terjadi pada anggota TNI, Polri dan PNS serta jabatan lainnya.
Kejahaan Love scamming tidak hanya berupa kejahatan penipuan yang dapat merugikan pihak lain, yang menjadi sasaran pelaku. Tindak Pidana Pencucian Uang (TPPU) juga menjadi tindak kriminal lantaran hasil pelaku love scamming dihabiskan untuk menghilangkan jejak atas kejahatannya.***
