34 Android Mobile Application Account Breakers Immediately Delete
- Researchers found 34 applications on Android phones that had the potential to hack victims' accounts. The problematic application was identified as having Hook malware.
The Hook malware was created by BlackRock and ERMAC hackers. Both are hackers who also create banking viruses for Android. The reputation of both of them is known to be quite terrible. BlackRock is said to be able to steal money and passwords with banking applications and ERMAC can steal contact information and bank IDs on crypto wallets. Meanwhile, a Dutch cybersecurity company called Threat Fabric explains that Hook can exfiltrate data up to transactions. These activities can be carried out without the need for additional channels.
Hook's ability is not only for draining accounts. But it can also steal data from the victim's cellphone.
For example being able to download certain files for lists stored on the device. Apart from that, it also saves all WhatsApp chats to sending messages using the victim's account.
Hooks have been found in a number of countries around the world. Gizchina notes this malware was identified including in the United States, Australia, Poland, Canada, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Spain, France, Italy, and Portugal.

34 Aplikasi HP Android Pembobol Rekening Segera Hapus
- Para peneliti menemukan 34 aplikasi di HP Android yang berpotensi membobol rekening korbannya. Aplikasi bermasalah itu teridentifikasi memiliki malware Hook.
Malware Hook dibuat oleh peretas BlackRock dan ERMAC. Keduanya adalah peretas yang juga pembuat virus perbankan untuk Android.
Reputasi keduanya memang dikenal cukup mengerikan. BlackRock disebut bisa mencuri uang dan password dengan aplikasi perbankan dan ERMAC dapat mencuri informasi kontak serta ID bank pada dompet kripto. Sementara itu, perusahaan keamanan siber asal Belanda bernama Threat Fabric menjelaskan Hook dapat melakukan eksfiltrasi data hingga transaksi. Aktivitas tersebut dapat dilakukan tanpa perlu kanal tambahan.
Kemampuan Hook juga tak hanya untuk menguras rekening saja. Namun juga bisa mencuri data dari HP korbannya. Misalnya bisa mengunduh file tertentu untuk daftar yang disimpan pada perangkat. Selain itu juga menyimpan seluruh chat WhatsApp hingga mengirimkan pesan menggunakan akun korban.
Hook telah ditemukan di sejumlah negara dunia. Gizchina mencatat malware ini teridentifikasi termasuk di Amerika Serikat, Australia, Polandia, Kanada, Turki, Inggris, Spanyol, Prancis, Italia, dan Portugal.
