The First Impression of the Prince of Brunei Sailing Enjoying the Dusk in Labuan Bajo
Jakarta - Leaders from ASEAN countries were invited by President Jokowi to sail on a pinisi boat while enjoying the sunset after meeting on the first day of the 42nd Summit in Labuan Bajo, NTT. The leaders of the ASEAN countries also invited their assistants.
One of those who attended was the son of the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam, Prince Abdul Mateen. He admitted that he was happy the first time he sailed on a pinisi boat in Labuan Bajo.
"We are happy and this is our first time in Labuan Bajo so we are happy to be on this ship to see a different side of the ASEAN Summit. Yes, very good, very relaxed, especially after a long day of meetings," Abdul Mateen said in a written statement from the Press, Media and Information Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat, Wednesday (10/5/2023).
He said Labuan Bajo was not as famous as Bali. However, he hopes that after the ASEAN Summit, Labuan Bajo will attract more people.
"I know Bali is very famous, but Labuan Bajo is not as famous as Bali. I think this ASEAN Summit will attract more people to come," he added.
Testimonials also came from the President of the Philippines, Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. He said this activity is a very good idea to clear your mind again after a long day at work.
"As promised by President Widodo is we come to the ship and we don't think too much about the economy and problems, security, and that's absolutely true, it's a very good idea to clear your mind so go back to work and refresh," he said
"And romantic!" added Mrs. Louise Aranetta-Marcos who was beside her.
"It's beautiful, the scenery is beautiful, so we are very worried because when the time comes for us to host ASEAN, we have to do better than this. Indonesia sets the bar very high, we have to compete," Marcos added.
The Prime Minister (PM) of Singapore, Lee Hsien Loong, also seemed to be enjoying the trip on the pinisi boat. He was very happy to see the sunset.
"Oh it feels so good, so far so calm, so smooth, we're looking forward to seeing the sunset. I'm so happy we can see the sun, I think it's quite spectacular," said Lee.

Lee said that this was his first time visiting NTT. According to him, he had seen photos of the beauty of NTT, but when he saw it in person it turned out to be better.
He also admitted that he would return to NTT in the future to dive or see the Komodo dragons. "I think there will be a lot of tourists who will want to come too, especially with the new hotels coming," he said.

Jakarta - Para pemimpin negara ASEAN diajak Presiden Jokowi berlayar di atas kapal pinisi sambil menikmati sunset usai pertemuan di hari pertama KTT ke-42 di Labuan Bajo, NTT. Para pemimpin negara ASEAN itu juga turut mengajak pendampingnya.
Salah satu yang turut hadir yaitu putra Sultan Brunei Darusalam, Pangeran Abdul Mateen. Dia mengaku senang di kali pertamanya berlayar di atas kapal pinisi di Labuan Bajo.
"Kami senang dan ini pertama kalinya kami di Labuan Bajo jadi kami senang berada di kapal ini melihat sisi berbeda dari KTT ASEAN. Ya sangat bagus, sangat santai terutama setelah pertemuan hari yang panjang," kata Abdul Mateen seperti dalam keterangan tertulis dari Biro Pers, Media, dan Informasi Sekretariat Presiden, Rabu (10/5/2023).
Dia mengatakan Labuan Bajo tidak seterkenal Bali. Namun dia berharap usai KTT ASEAN ini Labuan Bajo akan lebih menarik banyak orang.
"Saya tahu Bali sangat terkenal, tetapi Labuan Bajo tidak setenar Bali. Saya pikir KTT ASEAN ini akan menarik lebih banyak orang untuk datang," tambahnya.
Testimoni juga datang dari Presiden Filipina, Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. Dia mengatakan kegiatan ini merupakan ide yang sangat baik untuk menjernihkan kembali pikiran selepas seharian bekerja.
"Seperti yang dijanjikan oleh Presiden Widodo adalah kita datang ke kapal dan kita tidak terlalu memikirkan ekonomi dan masalah, keamanan, dan itu benar sekali, itu ide yang sangat bagus untuk menjernihkan pikiran Anda jadi kembali ke bekerja dan menyegarkan," ujarnya
"Dan romantis!" tambah Ibu Louise Aranetta-Marcos yang berada di sampingnya.
"Indah, pemandangannya indah, jadi kami sangat khawatir karena ketika saatnya tiba bagi kami untuk menjadi tuan rumah ASEAN, kami harus melakukan yang lebih baik dari ini. Indonesia menetapkan standar sangat tinggi, kita harus bersaing," tambah Marcos.
Perdana Menteri (PM) Singapura, Lee Hsien Loong, juga tampak menikmati perjalanan di atas kapal pinisi tersebut. Ia sangat senang melihat matahari terbenam.
"Oh rasanya sangat menyenangkan, sejauh ini sangat tenang, sangat mulus, kami menantikan untuk melihat matahari terbenam. Saya sangat senang kita bisa melihat matahari, saya pikir itu cukup spektakuler," ujar Lee.

Lee menuturkan bahwa ini merupakan kali pertamanya mengunjungi NTT. Menurutnya, ia telah melihat foto keindahan NTT, tapi ketika melihatnya secara langsung ternyata lebih baik.
Ia pun mengaku akan kembali mengunjungi NTT di masa depan untuk menyelam maupun melihat komodo. "Saya pikir akan ada banyak turis yang ingin datang juga, terutama dengan hotel-hotel baru yang akan datang," ucapnya.
