20 Heads of Task Force at the United Corruption Eradication Commission Letter to the Secretary General, Asking for an Explanation on Endar

The KPK Investigation Task Force sent a letter to KPK Secretary General Cahya Harefa. They asked for an explanation regarding the removal of Brigadier General Endar Priantoro from the position of Director of Investigation, even though his tenure at the KPK Endar was extended. 

"We, the Investigation Task Force at the Investigation Directorate, request the Secretary General of the KPK to provide an explanation for the Secretary General's Decree Number 152/KP.07.00/50/03/2023 dated March 31, 2023 regarding the dismissal of Mr. Endar Priantoro as Director of Investigation," the contents read. the letter as seen by detikcom, Friday (7/4/2023). 

They asked for an explanation because they felt that the information about Endar's sudden dismissal was enough to disturb the working atmosphere at the KPK Investigation Directorate. In addition, they considered that the confusing information could strain the working relationship between the KPK and the National Police. 

"Thank you for the wisdom of the Secretary General of the KPK," concluded the letter requested by the 20 KPK Investigation Task Force.

Endar's Dismissal Polemic

The KPK removed Endar from the position of Director of Investigation on the grounds that his term of office at the National Police ended on March 31, 2023. This removal then caused a polemic because the National Police Chief had extended Endar's tenure at the KPK in a letter to KPK leaders dated March 29, 2023. 

The National Police Chief has also returned to reply to Endar's return letter to the National Police sent by the Corruption Eradication Commission. In the letter, the National Police Chief again asked Endar to remain on duty at the KPK. 

Endar has also reported this polemic to the KPK Supervisory Board. He hopes Dewas can resolve the polemic that occurred. 

The KPK then opened its voice. The KPK confirmed that the removal was carried out because Endar's term of office ended on March 31, 2023. The KPK also stated that it did not propose to extend Endar's term of office, but instead recommended that Endar get a promotion at the National Police. 

President Joko Widodo also opened his voice. Jokowi asked for the transfer of officials to be carried out according to the rules.
