The directives were addressed to the ministers of the Onward Indonesia Cabinet, the Attorney General, the TNI Commander, the National Police Chief and heads of agencies/institutions.
The letter contained three points of President Jokowi's directives.
First, the handling of Covid-19 is currently in transition from a pandemic to endemic, so caution is still required.
Second, in connection with this matter, the holding of breaking the fast together in the holy month of Ramadan 1444 Hijriah should be abolished.
Third, the Minister of Home Affairs should follow up on these directives to governors, regents and mayors.
The letter requests that ministers, heads of agencies, heads of institutions and heads of regions comply with the President's directives and forward them to all employees in their respective agencies.
As is well known, the government through the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) has set 1 Ramadan 1444 H or the start of Ramadan 2023 fasting to fall on Thursday (23/3/2023) or tomorrow.
