KING CHARLES AND SIBLINGS STAND VIGIL AT QUEEN’S LYING IN STATE

King Charles and his siblings Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward have stood vigil over the Queen’s coffin as it lies in state in Westminster Hall.

In poignant scenes, the Vigil of the Princes saw the four Royals mount guard at the four corners of their mother’s coffin.

The siblings completed the ceremony in complete silence as hundreds of members of the public continued to file past the coffin.

It was the first time Prince Andrew had been seen in military uniform for a long period, with the Duke of York given special permission to wear it.

Thousands of people continue to queue to see the Queen’s coffin and the current waiting time is 22 hours.

On Saturday, the Queen’s eight grandchildren will hold their own vigil, before the state funeral on Monday.
