HOLIDAY NEWS - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono together with President Joko Widodo inaugurated the State Palace in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) of the Archipelago Capital (IKN). The palace is the only one that is not a Dutch relic.

"Because the Garuda Palace is currently still in the finishing process and it may still take another month, today I will inaugurate the State Palace first. "And later the Garuda Palace will be inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto," said Jokowi at IKN, Friday (7/10/2024).

Director General of Cipta Karya Diana Kusumastuti explained that the construction of the State Palace and also the Garuda Palace which was carried out by the PUPR Ministry at IKN, began with a design development process. Then continued with development, all stages of the process were the work of the nation's children.

"The State Palace and Garuda Palace are the work of the nation's children. This is the only palace in Indonesia that is not a Dutch colonial legacy," said Diana.

Apart from that, all the materials used in the construction of the State Palace and Garuda Palace were also sent from various regions in Indonesia. This is considered to illustrate the principle of mutual cooperation.

"We brought all local materials here, starting from copper for doors and lamps which came from Boyolali, then we also applied carvings from all over Indonesia to several rooms such as the Credentials Room which is used to receive state guests," he said .

He also hopes that the entire process of building the State Palace and Garuda Palace which has implemented NSPK principles, such as Green Buildings and Smart Buildings, can become an example for the development of other buildings throughout Indonesia.

"It is hoped that the State Palace will be useful forever, as a legacy for the nation's children and grandchildren that we will always remember," said Diana.
