Abu Dhabi Will Build the World's Second Giant LED Sphere
HOLIDAY NEWS – Sphere Entertainment is collaborating with the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT) to establish the world's second Sphere. This giant LED will be built in the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
Through this partnership, Sphere aims to bring the next generation of entertainment media to Abu Dhabi. The hope is that this ball-shaped technology can increase entertainment for residents and attract more visitors from various parts of the world.
"Sphere is redefining live entertainment and expanding the reach of its transformative impact. We are proud to collaborate with DCT Abu Dhabi to expand Sphere in their city," said Sphere Entertainment Executive Chairman and CEO James L. Dolan.
Meanwhile, Chairman of DCT Abu Dhabi H.E. Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak explained that this second Sphere will use advanced technology. Sphere will support Abu Dhabi as a center for culture and innovation by 2030.
"By embracing cutting-edge entertainment like Sphere, we are not only raising our global profile, but also setting new standards in immersive experiences and cultural offerings," explained Mohammed.
The first Sphere has received a lot of attention since it was first established, even gaining worldwide recognition since September last year. This building with a capacity of 20,000 people is often used to promote big brands or artists through LED technology installed outside the building.
The second Sphere will be built on Sphere Entertainment's design, technology and intellectual property so Abu Dhabi will pay the franchise initiation fee. Once construction of the giant LED sphere is complete, Abu Dhabi will pay an annual fee for creative and artistic content licensed by Sphere Entertainment.
