HOLIDAY NEWS - Neuralink, a company owned by Elon Musk, successfully implanted a brain chip trial for a second patient. In fact, Alex, the second brain chip implant patient, is now playing the game Counter Strike 2 smoothly.

Quoting Engadget, Saturday (24/8/2024), Neuralink announced that the brain chip implant implanted in the second trial patient was going well and showed no signs of retraction.
Neuralink is conducting trials on implanting chips in human brains, making it possible for paralyzed patients to operate electronic devices, surf the internet, and play games smoothly.

Neuralink conducted its first brain chip implant trial in January 2024. Even though the implant operation went smoothly, a few weeks later the brain chip in the first patient experienced problems. The tiny wires on the chip implant are pulled, so the electrodes lose most of their ability to measure brain signals.

In order to minimize the risk of this disorder recurring, Neuralink took mitigation steps for the second trial patient on Alex.

Precautions taken by Neuralink include reducing brain movement during surgery and ensuring the implant is closer to the surface of the brain.
A few weeks after brain chip implant surgery, Alex can now use software to design a special stand for his Neuralink charger which will then be 3D printed.
Neuralink said that it is now making brain chips that have the ability to recognize certain clicks and movements. The technology company is also developing a special algorithm that can detect a user's desire to write by hand.

This algorithm will help patients who cannot speak, such as those suffering from the neurological disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), to communicate with other people more easily.
