Google Meet Launches New AI Feature, Creates Automatic Summaries During Meetings

Google Meet now comes with new features that will make meetings more practical. This feature called “take notes for me” uses AI technology, Gemini AI, to take notes and create automatic summaries of important points discussed during meetings. 

How the Gemini AI Overview Feature Works in Google Meet

While the meeting is in progress, there will be a purple-blue tools button, AI located in the top right corner. Users can immediately access this feature and activate it to create summary notes. The summary will later be saved in Google Doc form in Google Drive by the meeting host. 

Once the meeting is over, this document can be sent directly to all participants or added to the calendar event, so everyone can easily get important information without having to take notes manually. If the meeting recording and transcript feature is enabled, this document will also include links to the recording and transcript. 

This feature will initially be available to Google Workspace customers with special add-ons, such as Gemini Enterprise, Gemini Education Premium, and AI Meetings & Messaging. Currently, this feature only supports English and is used on computers or laptops. However, Google plans to continue developing this feature so that it can be used more widely in the future. 

What Google is doing has become Google's strategy to incorporate more AI technology into their products and services, including in Google Workspace applications and Android devices. With the help of AI, Google hopes to make work easier and faster to complete. Of course, we hope that similar features can also be emulated by several other meeting platforms, to make it easier for users to create summaries.

Google Meet kini hadir dengan fitur baru yang akan membuat rapat jadi lebih praktis. Fitur bernama “take notes for me” ini menggunakan teknologi AI, Gemini AI, untuk mencatat dan membuat ringkasan otomatis dari poin-poin penting yang dibahas selama rapat.

Cara Kerja Fitur Ringkasan Gemini AI di Google Meet

Saat meeting berlangsung, akan ada tombol tools berwarna ungu-biru, AI yang terletak di pojok kanan atas. Pengguna bisa segera mengakses fitur tersebut dan mengaktifkannya untuk membuat catatan ringkasan. Ringkasan tersebut nantinya akan disimpan dalam bentuk Google Doc di Google Drive oleh host meeting.

Setelah rapat selesai, dokumen ini bisa langsung dikirim ke semua peserta atau ditambahkan ke acara kalender, sehingga semua orang dapat dengan mudah mendapatkan informasi penting tanpa perlu mencatat secara manual. Jika fitur rekaman rapat dan transkrip diaktifkan, dokumen ini juga akan menyertakan tautan ke rekaman dan transkrip tersebut.

Fitur ini awalnya akan tersedia untuk pelanggan Google Workspace dengan add-on khusus, seperti Gemini Enterprise, Gemini Education Premium, dan AI Meetings & Messaging. Untuk saat ini, fitur ini hanya mendukung bahasa Inggris dan digunakan di komputer atau laptop. Namun, Google berencana untuk terus mengembangkan fitur ini agar bisa digunakan lebih luas ke depannya.
