Riyadh – King Salman on Sunday, June 9, 2024, ordered the Kingdom to accommodate 1,000 pilgrims who are Palestinian citizens.

This directive was carried out to help the Palestinian people, whose family members were killed or injured in the fighting currently raging in Gaza.
"This directive comes after a similar order was issued last May, bringing the total number of Hajj pilgrims originating from Palestine for this year to 2,000," according to an Arab News report, Monday, June 10, 2024.

This briefing is also part of the Guest Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Program for Hajj and Umrah supervised by the Ministry of Islam, Da'wah and Guidance.

Since its inception 26 years ago, more than 60,000 pilgrims have been accommodated in this program.
For your information, Israel has continued its brutal attacks on Gaza since the attack by the Palestinian group Hamas on October 7, despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire.

Some 36,600 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, most of them women and children, and more than 83,000 others injured, according to local health authorities.
Eight months into Israel's war, much of Gaza is devastated by a crippling blockade of food, clean water and medicine.
