- A conservation expert recalls the moment he almost died when he was wrapped around an anaconda snake. At that time he did it for the sake of a scientific experiment that was documented for the Discovery Channel. What a terrible memory resulting from scientific curiosity.
An astonishing incident occurred in a 2014 Discovery Channel episode entitled 'Eaten Alive'. Paul Rosolie, a conservationist, agreed to allow himself to be wrapped around a large snake because the entire production team was curious about the strength of giant snakes. However, this experiment almost ended tragically.
In a recent interview with LADbible, Rosolie described the 2014 experience as truly horrific. Reporting from News.com.au, Saturday (1/6/2024) this experiment had to be stopped within minutes of starting, when Rosolie's head started to be eaten by the snake, he immediately gave a signal to stop the action.
He said the last moment he remembered was the snake's mouth opening wide and suddenly everything went dark. He felt weak and let the snake wrap around his body.
Rosolie explained how the snake wrapped around him so tightly that he felt his protective clothing crack and his arms seemed to be torn off. At that point, he was almost in a fatal condition.

"I was moments away from exploding ribs," he said.
This experiment was aimed at showing people the incredible power of huge snakes. Anacondas are known to be able to coil and swallow large animals such as jaguars, indicating that their ability to swallow humans is beyond doubt.

"Every time you exhale, the snake squeezes harder and harder. Then when you try to breathe again, there's nothing. I couldn't even call for help. It was terrible," explained Rosolie.

With the main mission to protect the habitat of large snakes such as anacondas, Rosolie's experiments are proof of how strong and dangerous these snakes are. Even though the action had to be stopped for safety, this experience succeeded in attracting public attention and increasing awareness of the importance of preserving their natural habitat.
