– Last February, Google announced that its Pay or GPay service, a tool to make payments easier, would be discontinued. Now, the service, which has been operating since 2020, is no longer available in the US.

Since June 4, the GPay application has automatically removed its users from the application. When the user tries to re-enter the application, Google provides a message that the payment tool can no longer be used.

"The US Google Pay app is no longer available. You can still tap to pay using the Google Wallet app," Google wrote on the GPay home page. Even though the app no longer works, GPay can still be accessed on the website.
The Google Pay site can be used to see the incoming balance after the application is closed. Users can also still use the site to move funds from GPay to another digital wallet that Google has developed, namely Google Wallet.

In keeping with Google's warning message, the company is focusing on developing Google Wallet, their newest payment tool. This digital wallet can be used to carry out various kinds of transactions, such as paying accordingly or buying transportation tickets.

To date, Google Wallet is available in more than 50 countries such as Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, Greece, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Singapore, Thailand and many more. Unfortunately, this service is not yet available in Indonesia.
For users who have already used Google Pay, they do not need to re-register to use Google Wallet services. All items or payment methods in Pay can be transferred directly to Wallet.
