Google Encourages the Use of AI for Indonesia's Progress in the Digital Era
– In line with the intensive adoption of AI technology, Google Indonesia in the Google AI for Indonesia Gold 2045 event introduced its existing and ongoing programs to strengthen the presence and use of artificial intelligence (AI) in Indonesia.
Google AI for Indonesia Gold 2045 is an initiative from Google which seeks to support economic growth and improve people's welfare, especially amidst the onslaught of the digital era.
By adopting AI technology, Google brings the use of AI for development for various sectors in Indonesia such as health for all, equitable education, science and technology (IPTEK), innovation and economic productivity, implementation of the green economy, digital transformation, andurban and rural areas as centers of economic growth. Then, Google is also not left behind, through this initiative, it is trying to invest in AI in the infrastructure sector for Cloud First to encourage the use of AI, modernize Indonesia's data systems towards the AI era, and others.
In the education sector, Google AI has carried out AI introduction training through the Gemini Academy program aimed at teachers. Teachers are given 10 easy-to-learn modules to make it easier for them to make various learning plans with the help of AI, such as for class learning plans and others.
Gemini Academy is known to have been present for the first time in Indonesia and has provided training to 7000 teachers. Now Gemini Academy training for 2024 will reopen from 13, 20, 27 July 2024 and 3 and 10 August 2024.
Training participants must register first via s.id/geminiacademy2024 and selection will close on July 1 2024. Announcement of participants will be held on July 8 2024. Apart from receiving intensive training and Gemini Academy modules, participants will also receive a 32-hour Gemini Academy participation certificate and the opportunity to collaborate with the Belajar.id community.
It is hoped that Gemini Academy can meet Teachers' needs to build AI literacy, know how to use Gemini and other AI tools safely, explore opportunities and challenges to connect AI with education so they can develop the skills needed inthis field.
For your information, Gemini is a generative AI model developed by Google that can answer various user questions and commands from text prompts. Gemini can help users write, plan, study and much more.
At the Google AI for Golden Indonesia event, Google also introduced two platforms that passed the 2023 Bangkit Academy program, namely a tourist and traveling destination search application called Vishnu and Go Dentist, a smart application for dental health services.
These two applications made by the Nation's children are supported by AI technology. The Vishnu application relies on AI to recommend unique tourist destinations in certain cities with Vishnu AI. Apart from that, it also provides culinary venues and other attractions.
Meanwhile, Go Dentist helps users detect the health of their teeth with the help of AI by simply taking photos of the front teeth, upper and lower jaw areas. After that, Go Dentist will provide the required treatment and recommend a dentist for further consultation via chat. Consultation payments are also made online using the Virtual Account method.
The Bangkit Academy program was previously released in 2021 by Google, Gojek, Tokopedia, and Traveloka. This is a technology training program that aims to improve technical skills and prepare participants for careers in technology.
The program covers a wide range of topics, including software engineering, data science, artificial intelligence, and application development. Participants who successfully complete this program have the opportunity to get work or internship opportunities at program partner companies.
Apart from the programs above, Google AI for Gold Indonesia 2045 has trained 200,000 developers and game developers, empowered more than 800,000 local female MSMEs in Indonesia in the Google Gapura Digital X Women Will program, trained more than 3800 educational channels since 2045. 2020 and many more.
The aim of the Google AI for Indonesia Gold 2045 program is to accelerate the adoption and development of AI technology in Indonesia, so that the country can exploit its full potential in facing the challenges and opportunities in the digital era.
