- Katy Perry opened her voice regarding the Israeli attack on Rafah last Sunday (26/5). The Rafah incident killed more than 40 people. The singer of the song Roar urged an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Through his personal Instagram account, Perry re-uploaded the message shared by the UNICEF Instagram account. The 39-year-old singer reiterated the words of UNICEF Executive Director, Catherine Russell, who discussed Israel's attack on Gaza.
"The images of burned children and families emerging from bombed tents in Rafah shocked us all. "Reports of the murder of children sheltering in makeshift tents are absurd," said Catherine Russell on UNICEF's Instagram, which was reposted by Katy Perry.
Furthermore, Russell said that they had witnessed this heartbreaking tragedy for seven months. He urged Israel and Hamas to immediately implement a ceasefire.
"There must be an immediate ceasefire, the unconditional release of all hostages, and an end to the senseless killings of children," he said.
Perry turned off the comments column on Instagram. However, in other posts, many netizens praised Katy Perry for having the courage to speak up.
