If the Met Gala is the red carpet where celebrities step out of their style comfort zones and really take risks in the world of fashion, then the after-party of the Met Gala is where they have the most fun. In 2024, a number of A-list celebrities left the museum and headed to various parties held around New York, many wearing mini dresses so they could dance the night away.
Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski looked into Givenchy's '90s archives for their looks, while Irina Shayk and Jodie Turner-Smith opted for minidresses and Janelle Monae added a bit of humor to her look.

Kendall Jenner

Kendall Jenner – who attended the Met Gala in a vintage Givenchy gown from Alexander McQueen's tenure at the brand circa 1999 – continued the after-party theme, wearing another look from the designer, this time from his spring/summer 1997 collection. She also stepped out in a custom Vivienne Westwood design with lace and corsetry.
Emily Ratajkowski
Emily Ratajkowski was also digging into the Givenchy archives for her afterparty look, opting for this sheer blue mini with tassel detailing. The dress was from the Alexander McQueen era of the house, from 1998. She paired it with statement high heels.
Penelope Cruz

While most of the stars wore their party dresses down to minis, Penelope Cruz swapped her Chanel lace creation for something equally elegant, a one-shoulder black evening gown.

Iris Law wore a vintage Versace gown for the main event, but wore a white silk corset for the after party, which included white tights and a sheer scarf wrapped around her head.
Paloma Elsesser
Paloma Elsesser had fun with her afterparty look in a light pink satin mini dress with bubble hems and an exaggerated cone-shaped bra. She accessorized with veil and a giant bow accessory.
Irina Shayk
Irina Shayk also opted for something mini and very detailed. The model's dress was all embellished, and she paired it with several choker necklaces, tights and strappy sandals.
Jodie Turner-Smith

For the 2024 Met Gala, Jodie Turner-Smith wore a white bridal gown from Burberry, and for the after party, she chose a bright yellow sequin two-piece from the brand.
