- Apple CEO Tim Cook expressed his admiration for Indonesia. According to him, Indonesia has all the elements to continue to be a strong country.
"I love Indonesia, I am happy to be here, the culture, the glitter, the dynamics and the local atmosphere in the country. I see that Indonesia has all the good elements to continue to be successful in the future," said Cook, after meeting Indonesian President Joko Widodo in State Palace, Wednesday (17/4/2024).
He said Indonesia is a country that has a healthy investment climate. For this reason, Apple is committed to increasing investment in Indonesia worth IDR 1.6 trillion to build Apple Developer Academy educational facilities.
"We believe in this country," he said.
Currently, the Apple Developer Academy is operating in three locations. One each in Batam, Surabaya and South Tangerang.
"We will open the 4th Apple Developer Academy. We just announced it yesterday and it will be in Bali," he said.
Cook said that there are already thousands of Apple Developer Academy graduates who are able to create applications through the Apple App Store application store. Not only serving domestic users, but also spread throughout the world.
When asked about the possibility of opening a factory in Indonesia, Cook indicated that this was also part of his conversation with Jokowi.
"We talked about the President's desire to see many factories in the country. This is something we will discuss further," he said.
