Apple is far behind, only IDR 1.6 T, Microsoft invests IDR 22.7 T in RI
- Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella visited Indonesia and met with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the State Palace this morning, Tuesday (30/4/2024).
The meeting lasted briefly, only about 28 minutes from 08.25 WIB to 08.53 WIB. Valid information received by CNBC Indonesia states that Microsoft is committed to investing US$ 1.4 billion or the equivalent of Rp. 22.7 trillion.
Nadella will reportedly officially announce this directly at the 'Microsoft Build: AI Day' event at the JCC today. This investment value is the largest from Microsoft in Indonesia during its business in the last 29 years.
One form of investment is building infrastructure and developing AI digital talent in Indonesia. President Director of Microsoft Indonesia, Dharma Simorangkir, said Jokowi also asked Microsoft to develop research in Indonesia.
"Earlier I spoke with the President about human resource development and building a joint research center between Microsoft and the Indonesian government. Especially in the formation of digital talent in the field of AI," he said.
The research centers are offered in several places. These include Bali and the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago. Microsoft was also asked to help the government in developing smart cities in IKN.
The use of AI will then be focused on various sectors. One of the things discussed with Jokowi was the development of agricultural technology, so that Indonesia could become a developed country.
Apple's investment in Indonesia IDR 1.6 T
Previously, about two weeks ago Apple CEO Tim Cook also visited Indonesia to discuss investment in the country.
Apple is committed to investing with a total value of IDR 1.6 trillion to build the 'Apple Developer Academy' educational facility.
So far there have been 3 Apple Developer Academies spread across several cities, namely Batam, South Tangerang and Surabaya with a value of IDR 1.4 trillion.
Furthermore, Apple will also open a new facility in Bali which will bring its investment value to IDR 1.6 trillion.
President Jokowi also expressed several hopes for other investments from Apple in Indonesia. These include innovation centers, helping build smart cities at IKN, and collaborating in the form of business matching with local vendors for the iPhone manufacturing process.

Pertemuan berlangsung singkat, hanya sekitar 28 menit sejak pukul 08.25 WIB hingga 08.53 WIB. Informasi valid yang diterima CNBC Indonesia menyebut Microsoft berkomitmen menggelontorkan investasi senilai US$ 1,4 miliar atau setara dengan Rp 22,7 triliun.
Hal ini kabarnya akan diumumkan langsung oleh Nadella secara resmi di acara 'Microsoft Build: AI Day' di JCC pada hari ini.
Nilai investasi tersebut menjadi yang terbesar dari Microsoft di Indonesia selama berbisnis dalam 29 tahun terakhir.
Salah satu bentuk investasinya adalah membangun infrastruktur dan pengembangan talenta digital AI di Indonesia.
Direktur Utama Microsoft Indonesia, Dharma Simorangkir, mengatakan Jokowi juga meminta Microsoft mengembangkan riset di Indonesia.
"Tadi bicara dengan Presiden mengenai pengembangan SDM dan membangun pusat riset bersama antara Microsoft dengan pemerintah Indonesia. Terutama dalam pembentukan digital talent di bidang AI," kata dia.
Adapun pusat risetnya ditawarkan ke beberapa tempat. Antara lain di Bali dan Ibu Kota Negara (IKN) Nusantara. Microsoft juga diminta membantu pemerintah dalam pengembangan smart city di IKN.
Pemanfaatan AI selanjutnya akan difokuskan ke berbagai sektor. Salah satunya yang dibicarakan dengan Jokowi adalah pengembangan teknologi agrikultur, agar Indonesia bisa menjadi negara maju.
Investasi Apple di Indonesia Rp 1,6 T
Sebelumnya, sekitar dua pekan lalu CEO Apple Tim Cook juga menyambangi Indonesia untuk membahas investasi di Tanah Air.
Apple berkomitmen menggelontorkan investasi dengan nilai total Rp 1,6 triliun untuk membangun fasilitas pendidikan 'Apple Developer Academy'.
Sejauh ini sudah ada 3 Apple Developer Academy yang tersebar di beberapa kota, yakni Batam, Tangerang Selatan, dan Surabaya dengan nilai Rp 1,4 triliun.
Selanjutnya, Apple juga akan membuka fasilitas baru di Bali yang merampungkan nilai investasinya menjadi Rp 1,6 triliun.
Presiden Jokowi juga menyampaikan beberapa harapan investasi lain dari Apple di Indonesia. Antara lain soal inovasi center, membantu pembangunan smart city di IKN, hingga bekerja sama dalam bentuk business matching dengan vendor lokal untuk proses manufaktur iPhone.
