Worry, Many Older Devices Will Not Support Windows 11 Version 24H2
The System Requirements of Windows 11 are likely to be updated, where apart from requiring TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot, it appears that the core files of the system will require the CPU Instruction POPCNT.
Before we discuss further, Microsoft will likely start releasing Windows 11 version 24H2 in the fall of this year between September – November 2024. And this new version will likely break the ability of most devices to install it due to the new requirements of the POPCNT Instructions.
Well the POPCNT instruction itself is not available on processors released more than 15 years ago. So even though it doesn't support TPM, initially we can bypass TPM and Secure boot, but with no support for the POPCNT instruction, the system won't boot at all.
This instruction itself was introduced in the mid-2000s on first generation AMD and Intel Core processors, which means that almost all CPUs in the last 15 years should not be affected by this.
Well, if you remember, previously it was reported that Windows 11 Version 24H2 would not run on the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, where it turned out that the processor did not have the POPCNT instruction so booting into the system would no longer be possible.
So what should we do?
If you have a very old processor, such as an Intel Core 2 Duo, then you must update your processor because even if you do a bypass it is likely that the system will not be able to boot.
However, if you have a newer processor such as a first generation Intel or AMD with a “Barcelona” architecture, then you can breathe a sigh of relief because you can just bypass TPM and just secure boot.

System Requirement dari Windows 11 kemungkinan akan diperbarui, dimana selain membutuhkan TPM 2.0 dan Secure Boot, nanti tampaknya file inti dari sistem membutuhkan CPU Intruction POPCNT.
Sebelum kita bahas lebih lanjut, Microsoft kemungkinan akan mulai merilis Windows 11 versi 24H2 pada musim gugur tahun ini diantara bulan September – November 2024. Dan versi baru ini besar kemungkinan akan memutus kemampuan sebagian besar perangkat untuk menginstallnya karena persyaratan baru Intruksi POPCNT.
Nah Intruksi POPCNT sendiri tidak tersedia pada processor yang dirilis lebih dari 15 tahun lalu. Jadi meskipun tidak mendukung TPM, awalnya kita bisa melakukan bypass TPM dan Secure boot, namun dengan tidak adanya dukungan intruksi POPCNT, maka sistem tidak akan boot sama sekali.
Instruksi ini sendiri diperkenalkan pada pertengahan tahun 2000-an pada prosesor AMD dan Intel Core generasi pertama, yang artinya hampir semua CPU dalam 15 tahun terakhir harusnya tidak akan terpengaruh dari hal ini.
Nah jika kamu ingat, sebelumnya dikabarkan bahwa Kabarnya Windows 11 Versi 24H2 Tidak Akan Berjalan di Processor Intel Core 2 Duo, dimana ternyata processor tersebut tidak memiliki intruksi POPCNT sehingga boot ke sistem tidak akan lagi dimungkinkan.
Jadi apa yang harus kita lakukan?
Jika kamu memiliki processor yang sangat lama, seperti Intel Core 2 Duo, maka kamu wajib memperbarui processor kamu karena bahkan jika kamu melakukan bypass pun kemungkinan sistem tidak akan dapat melakukan boot.
Namun jika kamu memiliki processor yang lebih baru seperti Intel Generasi pertama atau AMD dengan arsitektur “barcelona”, maka kamu bisa bernafas lega karena kamu cukup bypass TPM dan secure boot saja.
