Wales - A white-tailed eagle or sea eagle suddenly appeared after disappearing for a century. The animal was seen flying on Rhodri Jones' farm in Llanuwchllyn, Gwynedd, Wales. The time interval from the last data appearance is 100 years.
Quoted from the BBC, Tuesday (9/1/2023) the eagle is said to be extinct and is said to be a species that has been breeding for more than 150 years and this type has not existed in Wales since the 16th century.
Jones said the eagle was first seen flying on his farm on Wednesday (3/1/2024). A day later, the eagle appeared again.

Jones also said the size of the bird really stood out to him. Unlike golden eagles, white-tailed eagles are less fierce and can eat all kinds of food, such as fish, seabirds, and carrion.
"I believe he stood on the rock looking at the house for an hour," Jones said.
"It was very quiet, and I moved closer to take a closer look, just a few hundred meters away to take pictures," he added.
Jones said it was one of the workers who first saw the bird, but he didn't tell him it was a hawk, because he thought his boss would laugh at him in disbelief.
"There are lots of eagles and kites here, but this bird is not like that," he added.
Ornithologist and broadcaster Iolo Williams said the sighting was fantastic news.
"We don't see them often, they haven't been around for centuries. Having nested here about five centuries ago," he said.
"Now they are released on the Isle of Wight and breeding well in Scotland, we see a few, but usually only about one every ten years or so," he said.
"These are wild birds, young birds, last year's chicks," he added.
Where it came from is still a mystery. It is said that this eagle was not one of the birds released on the Isle of Wight.
"A young eagle was seen in Norfolk about three weeks ago and then disappeared. It could be the same eagle, but we don't know," he said.
While welcoming the visit, Jones said he hoped the eagle wouldn't stay too long, as it was preparing for mating season.
"It's great to see the bird here, I'm very happy, but I don't think this is the place," he said.
