Papua New Guineans flock to move to Indonesia
- Papuan New Guineans are moving to Indonesia in droves.
This was done because they wanted to get access to education and health in Indonesia, which are easier to obtain.
The transfer of a number of Papua New Guinean citizens was announced by the Papua Border Management and Foreign Cooperation Agency (BPPKLN).
The move of 110 Papua New Guineans emerged after the RI-PNG Joint Verification Exercise on Border Crossing meeting in Mosso, Jayapura.
To Kompas.com, Daily Executive (Plh) Head of BPPKLN Papua Dolfinus Kareth revealed that there were around 30 heads of families who had moved to Mosso Village, Muara Tami District, Jayapura.
"Initially there were 110 people and 17 families, but in the data we got today, through the list we submitted to the community, there were 30 families," said Dolfinus Kareth in Mosso Village, Thursday (2/11/2023), as quoted by Tribun Papua.

Dolfinus believes that the people from Nyaukono Village, Papua New Guinea entered Indonesia without being influenced by anyone.
"No one influenced them, it was their own will to establish themselves in Mosso Village," he explained.
Warga Papua Nugini Ramai-ramai Pindah ke Indonesia

Hal itu dilakukan karena mereka ingin mendapatkan akses pendidikan dan kesehatan di Indonesia, yang lebih mudah didapat.
Pindahnya sejumlah warga Papua Nugini ini disampaikan oleh Badan Pengelola Perbatasan dan Kerja Sama Luar Negeri (BPPKLN) Papua.
Pindahnya 110 warga papua Nugini ini mencuat setelah pertemuan RI-PNG Joint Verification Exercise on Border Crossing di Mosso, Jayapura.
Kepada Kompas.com, Pelaksana harian (Plh) Kepala BPPKLN Papua Dolfinus Kareth mengungkapkan, ada sekitar 30 Kepala Keluarga yang pindah ke Kampung Mosso, Distrik Muara Tami, Jayapura.
"Awalnya 110 jiwa 17 KK tetapi dalam data yang kami dapatkan hari ini, melalui daftar yang kami serahkan ke masyarakat itu ada 30 KK," ungkap Dolfinus Kareth di Kampung Mosso, Kamis (2/11/2023), seperti dikutip dari Tribun Papua.

Dolfinus meyakini masyarakat dari Kampung Nyaukono, Papua Nugini tersebut masuk ke Indonesia tanpa dipengaruhi oleh siapa pun.
"Tidak ada satu pun yang mempengaruhi mereka, ini atas kemauan mereka sendiri untuk menetapkan diri di Kampung Mosso," paparnya.
Menurutnya mereka ingin menjadi warga negara Indonesia.
Bukan tanpa aslasan, Dolfinus menyebut mayoritas dari mereka memang pernah memiliki keluarga yang lahir tahun 1960 di Mosso.
