Elon Musk shows off an AI chatbot that likes to joke, claims it is superior to GPT chat

 -- Billionaire Elon Musk introduced his artificial intelligence (AI) in the form of an AI chatbot named Grok. Check out the advantages. 

This artificial intelligence chatbot is inspired by the novel The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. This technology was developed by Musk's AI company, xAI. 

The boss of X (formerly Twitter) said that Grok would be a competitor to ChatGPT. This chatbot will be available to premium customers on the X platform after testing. 

Musk also revealed that Grok had access to users' posts on X and had a tendency to provide sarcastic and joking responses. 

In a tweet, Musk showed a screenshot of Grok's joke when asked for a "step-by-step" guide to making cocaine. The chatbot then outlined the four steps, including “obtaining a bachelor's degree in chemistry” and “setting up a clandestine laboratory in a remote location.”

However, Grok added at the end: "Just kidding! Please don't try to make cocaine. It's illegal, dangerous, and not something I would recommend."

Quoting The Guardian, Musk said that Grok, which is still in early testing and not available to the public, will eventually be released to subscribers of X's high-end subscription service, Premium+

Grok is a verb coined by American science fiction writer, Robert A Heinlein, and according to the Collins dictionary means "to understand thoroughly and intuitively". 

Grok was built by Musk's new AI company, xAI. Staff at xAI explained the chatbot was inspired by The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the popular sci-fi comedy by British author Douglas Adams, in a blog post on Saturday. 

"Grok is an AI modeled after The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, so it's meant to answer almost anything and, even more difficult, even suggest what questions to ask!" wrote a statement on the official xAI page. 

"Grok is designed to answer questions with a bit of wit and has a rebellious streak, so please don't use him if you don't like humor!" the statement continued. 

The xAI team says Grok is powered by a large language model - the underlying technology behind AI chatbots - called Grok-1. 

The company says that Grok-1 has outperformed GPT-3.5, the model used in the freely available version of ChatGPT, on some benchmarks such as solving middle school math problems. However, xAI says that Grok-1 still lags behind the most powerful ChatGPT model, GPT-4.

Miliarder Elon Musk memperkenalkan kecerdasan buatan (AI) miliknya berupa chatbot AI bernama Grok. Simak keunggulannya.

Chatbot dengan kecerdasan buatan ini terinspirasi dari novel The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Teknologi ini dikembangkan perusahaan AI milik Musk, xAI.

Bos X (sebelumnya Twitter) itu mengatakan Grok bakal menjadi pesaing ChatGPT. Chatbot ini akan tersedia untuk pelanggan premium di platform X setelah pengujian.

Musk juga mengungkapkan bahwa Grok memiliki akses ke postingan pengguna di X dan memiliki kecenderungan untuk memberikan tanggapan yang sarkastik dan suka bercanda.

Dalam sebuah cuitan, Musk menunjukkan tangkapan layar candaan dari Grok ketika ditanya panduan "langkah demi langkah" untuk membuat kokain. Chatbot itu kemudian menguraikan empat langkah tersebut, termasuk "mendapatkan gelar sarjana kimia" dan "mendirikan laboratorium klandestin di lokasi terpencil".

Namun, Grok menambahkan di bagian akhir: "Hanya bercanda! Tolong jangan coba-coba membuat kokain. Itu ilegal, berbahaya, dan bukan sesuatu yang akan saya anjurkan."

Mengutip The Guardian, Musk mengatakan bahwa Grok, yang masih dalam tahap pengujian awal dan tidak tersedia untuk umum, pada akhirnya akan dirilis untuk pelanggan layanan berlangganan kelas atas X, Premium+

Grok adalah kata kerja yang diciptakan oleh penulis fiksi ilmiah Amerika, Robert A Heinlein, dan menurut kamus Collins berarti "memahami secara menyeluruh dan intuitif".

Grok dibangun oleh perusahaan AI baru milik Musk, xAI. Staf di xAI menjelaskan chatbot ini terinspirasi dari The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, komedi fiksi ilmiah populer karya penulis Inggris Douglas Adams, dalam sebuah posting blog pada hari Sabtu.

"Grok adalah AI yang dimodelkan setelah The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, sehingga dimaksudkan untuk menjawab hampir semua hal dan, yang lebih sulit lagi, bahkan menyarankan pertanyaan apa yang harus ditanyakan!" tulis pernyataan di laman resmi xAI.

"Grok dirancang untuk menjawab pertanyaan dengan sedikit kecerdasan dan memiliki sifat pemberontak, jadi tolong jangan menggunakannya jika Anda tidak suka humor!" lanjut pernyataan tersebut.

Tim xAI mengatakan Grok didukung oleh model bahasa yang besar - teknologi dasar di balik chatbot AI - yang disebut Grok-1.

Perusahaan mengatakan bahwa Grok-1 telah melampaui GPT-3.5, model yang digunakan dalam versi ChatGPT yang tersedia secara bebas, pada beberapa tolok ukur seperti memecahkan masalah matematika sekolah menengah. Namun, xAI mengatakan bahwa Grok-1 masih tertinggal dari model ChatGPT yang paling kuat, GPT-4.
