The law on the death penalty for Palestinians who are prisoners of the Israeli occupation is a flood of rejection. Instead of agreeing with the decision of the right-wing government as the proponent, Israeli citizens actually demanded that the law not be passed.

Among them were protests filed by relatives of several Hamas prisoners in the October 7 2023 attack. They urged Israeli right-wing parliamentarians to cancel the submission of the draft law in question.

It is known that in its attacks, Hamas is claimed to have killed as many as 1,200 people in southern Israel, and kidnapped around 240 of their citizens. According to hostage relatives, this death sentence will only trigger dire consequences for prisoners in Gaza.
To the parliamentary panel, representatives of these relatives expressed their anxiety

"It means we are playing with their mind games, and in return, we will get photos of our loved ones ending up murdered and the blame will still be projected on the state of Israel, not them (Hamas)," said Yarden Gonen, the family of the female hostage. named Romi.

“Don't fight for this (law) until they (hostages) come back here. "Don't put my brother's blood on your hands," he said again. The families of the hostages are concerned that discussions regarding the execution of Palestinian prisoners will actually cause danger to their relatives who are now in the hands of Hamas.
For three dollars, the cousin of one of the captives, Gil Dilkma, begged Ben-Gvir to cancel the law. “Remove the law if you have the heart,” he said.

There is also the Missing Families Forum which in a statement said that such discussions endanger the lives of our loved ones without any benefit to the public.
“Stop talking about killing Arabs. Start talking about saving the Jews!" shouted another family member of one of the captives.

Previously, the Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, would pass a new law regarding the death penalty for Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons.

"On Monday, there will be the first reading of the law on the death penalty for Palestinian political prisoners, this law was proposed by the "Otzma Yehudit" party. This law will be discussed in the national security committee," he said, quoted by Quds News network, Monday, November 20, 2023.

It was not explained on Monday what date the law in question was ratified. However, this news was taken seriously by Palestinian sympathizers throughout the world. Mainly, after news circulated via X's social media account, @QudsNen.
"I hope that all members of the Knesset (Israel's parliament) support this important law," said Gvir, firmly. ***
