Giethoorn Village is often dubbed as a fairyland or fairytale village. With the beauty of the scenery in Giethoorn, I don't think this nickname is an exaggeration. There is a canal that surrounds the houses of residents.
In addition, almost every house has a courtyard with a nicely laid out garden. Green grass and various colorful flowers adorn the houses in Giethoorn. Interestingly, the majority of the houses in Giethoorn have thatched roofs built in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Desa Giethoorn kerap dijuluki sebagai negeri dongeng atau fairytale village. Dengan keindahan pemandangan di Giethoorn, rasanya julukan tersebut tidak berlebihan. Terdapat kanal yang mengelilingi rumah-rumah penduduk.
Selain itu, hampir setiap rumah memiliki halaman dengan taman yang ditata apik. Rumput hijau serta aneka bunga berwarna-warni tampak menghiasi rumah-rumah di Giethoorn. Menariknya lagi, mayoritas rumah di Giethoorn beratap jerami yang dibangun pada abad ke-18 dan 19.
